Work continued this week at . Our Special Projects Team put some finishing touches on this walnut sideboard. It measures 10 feet long, 30 inches deep and eight feet tall. Every bit of it is custom and we love the stone that the client chose. Indirect dimmable LED light throughout the room continues above and below the furniture. Blum soft-close hardware is used throughout including on two hidden doors used for electronics storage. These storage areas are also vented thanks to the hardwood slatted curves. The floor-to-ceiling mirrors open the space, but the intimacy of this private dining room is kept intact- if not improved.
We also took the existing staircase down to raw concrete, removing decades of laminated flooring that had been covered in previous renovations. We then installed our 1-1/8” thick solid walnut treads. This walnut is beautifully figured with some really exaggerated curly features that we saved for the top step.
All-in-all, this has been a satisfying project to produce and we look forward to continuing work with the team at Cafe Central.
It’s a nice morning to install some cabinets for our friends

Our friends at Salt + Honey recently opened their doors at their new location and we were brought on to the project to produce some custom millwork. One of the focal points are these walnut shelves with integrated indirect LED lighting from Tresco and we really like how they came together against the wallpaper. We are excited to show off a little more over the coming weeks. In the meantime, make sure to head that way for breakfast or lunch!

We’re liking how this walnut built-in came out. Integrated LED lights on a dimmer, soft-close drawers with dovetailed Baltic Birch drawer boxes and lots of other little features that kept this project assembly and installation as painless as possible.
Our latest project included the construction of custom items for the revamped restaurant at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino. We designed, constructed and installed the two walls of banquettes and the drop ceiling. More details coming.

In October of 2021, we got a visit to the shop from a local pecan farmer who was in the final stages of building his home and came to us with a request for quote for a dining room table. He had a few requirements. First, he wanted the table to be made of pecan wood. He liked Mission-style furniture and he told us that he prefers angles over curves. Finally, the dimensions: 10.5 feet long by 6 feet wide. That seemed extra large to us at the time; granted, we hadn’t seen his dining room yet.

was asked to solve a unique problem on the south rooftop deck of the Plaza Hotel in downtown El Paso. Hotel management wanted the stainless steel structure of the countertop covered up with material that matched the deck.
We picked up some Ipe hardwood from and designed and installed a face frame and inset doors using the existing tubular frame of the counter for structure. We also added shelving along the western wall of cabinets.
Really interesting project with lots of problem solving at every step. We all got sunburns too! Worth it.
