Four CCSD schools earned wellness awards because of their participation in the MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness (BCCW) School-based Wellness Initiative, with ATL earning the top award of $3000.

BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT: Members of Chester County Board of School Trustees will meet at the school district office at 509 District Office Drive, Chester, South Carolina tomorrow (Saturday) morning, June 1, 2024, by 7:30 a.m.

The purpose of the board members’ meeting at the district office is to ride together with district-level administrators on a school district bus to the three high school graduation ceremonies. The bus will depart from the school district office at 7:45 a.m. traveling to the graduations at Chester High School, Lewisville High School, and Great Falls High School and returning to the district office around 1 p.m.

There will be no district business discussed during the trip.

The CCSD Board will have a special meeting on Monday 06/03/24 at 4 p.m. to continue the discussion of capital projects.

We would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to Latoya Clifton, who serves as the Student Nutrition Operator at Lewisville Elementary School, on being the inaugural recipient of the Mozell T. Robinson Helping Hands Award! This award is a testament to her dedication, hard work, and commitment to the well-being and education of the students at Lewisville Elementary. Mozell T. Robinson, a remarkable individual and the namesake of this award, served as a teacher in the Chester County School System for an incredible span of 38 years. Among her many contributions to the field of education, she dedicated several years specifically to teaching second grade at Lewisville Elementary School. The legacy of her commitment to education continues to inspire and motivate us every day. In honor of her memory and her dedication to education, Mozell T. Robinson's family generously donated an annual gift of $500. This monetary award is intended to be given as a tribute to an individual who exemplifies the qualities that Mozell embodied throughout her career - selflessness and an unwavering commitment to the education and care of the students of Lewisville Elementary School. The recipient of this prestigious award can be either the Teacher of the Year or the Support Staff Person of the Year at Lewisville Elementary School, reflecting the broad spectrum of roles that contribute to the school's success. We are delighted that Ms. Clifton is the first recipient of this award. Her dedication to the students at Lewisville Elementary School mirrors the values and commitment that Mozell T. Robinson upheld throughout her long and impactful career in education. Once again, congratulations to Ms. Clifton on this well-deserved recognition. We also extend our gratitude to the family of Ms. Robinson for their generous contribution and for helping to continue her legacy in such a meaningful way.

Families and community members gathered at Chester High School last night to celebrate the achievements and awards of the senior class. Congratulations again to the Chester High School Class of 2024 for reaching this monumental milestone!

It was a fantastic day of play at Lewisville Middle School's Field Day event. The beautiful weather was a nice bonus as students were engaged in various activities throughout the day.
