Today we would like to highlight Opus40 Sculpture Park in Saugerties, NY. Opus 40 was created by sculptor and quarryman Harvey Fite. It comprises a sprawling series of dry-stone ramps, pedestals and platforms covering 6.5 acres of a bluestone quarry. A great place to spend a summer day! 🏃🏃🏃

Take a singing and dancing tromp through the swamp this Saturday with musical family entertainer Tom Sieling! 🪕🪇🤸July 20th at 11am!

Our rock painting program was a blast! Check out some of the creativity on display by our intrepid summer rock painters! 🎨

Crafters were able to take their rocks home due to their clear sedimental value. 🎤😛

In August, our Biography book club will be reading King Leopold's Ghost: A Story of Greed, Terror, and Heroism in Colonial Africa detailing the exploitation of the Congo Free State by King Leopold II of Belgium.

This club meets in a hybrid format, and participants are able to join in person or via zoom! Email [email protected], call, or speak to a staff member to register. 📗

Planning your weekend excursion? Did you know our library carries fishing poles that you can check out with your library card? Borrow a fishing pole for up to two weeks! 🪝

Did you know your library card gives you access to all kinds of museums, activities, and historical sites? ☀☀☀

Take advantage of your library card's free museum passes to visit the FDR Library and Museum located in the historic town of Hyde Park. FDR constructed the Library and Museum to "simultaneously preserve and provide public access to the records of his presidency." (fdrlibrary.org)

Our adult crafters left .kingston with a bunch of bath bombs and smiles last night. Such a fun time!

Our Summer LEGO Challenge was a huge success! 👷 Our intrepid LEGO challengers spun our challenge wheel and received individualized challenges with some challengers creating two, three, four, and even five challenge builds! Here are some of our favorites displayed on our bookshelves.

The Maritime Museum is a museum dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the maritime history of the Hudson River, its tributaries, and related industries. HRMM is a multi-functioning education hub and dynamic working waterfront. that includes an extensive collection of maritime artifacts and historic vessels, the Wooden Boat School, a Sailing School, a marina with public docking, a solar-powered tour boat, Solaris Boat Tours, and homeport barn.
