All About Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint Essential Oil has an inviting aroma that invigorates the mind and senses while inspiring a sense of peace. Used topically, Peppermint oil creates a cool, tingling sensation on the skin, making it a favorite for massages and muscle aches.
Peppermint Essential Oil Uses
Peppermint essential oil is highly versatile and can be used topically, automatically, and internally. Peppermint is in the same family as Lavender and Rosemary and diffusing these oils together creates a powerfully relaxing aromatic experience.
Common Uses:
• peppermint’s invigorating aroma can give a great boost of energy when applied to the head or back of neck
• diffuse peppermint oil to create a more energized environment
• add peppermint to hot bath water and enjoy the relaxing, invigorating scent and aromatic steam
• dilute a few drops of peppermint in your favorite carrier oil and use it in a refreshing massage
• rub on the bottom of feet for a boost of energy
• add a drop to a glass of water or tea to aid digestion
• rub a few drops into the temples to help combat headache symptoms
Tips for Peppermint Essential Oil
• dilute peppermint oil before applying to skin- then test on a small area of skin on the underside of arm and apply to the desired area as needed
• use with caution on older children, not suggested for use on infants

🍁🍂🍁Fall might not be in the air (yet), but it’s definitely in my diffuser! Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. Pumpkin spice, flannel, football, apple picking, and colorful leaves are a few of my favorite things. Another one of my favorite things was fall scented candles. This time every year, I would head to the nearest Bath & Body Works and load up on all of my favorite apple + cinnamon scented candles. And then one day I learned about the toxicity of candles, especially those Bath & Body Works ones I loved so much. YIKES😳
As with all things, I encourage you to do your own research about candles, toxins, and the side effects of breathing them in. I also encourage you to do your own research about the benefits of oils and the effects on the brain. You may learn a thing or two!🤓
The last few weeks, I’ve been trying out all the fall blends in my diffuser. With a simple search, you can find so many fall blends on Pinterest. I compiled a list of all of my favorites that were made up of oils I already had on hand or that were relatively inexpensive to purchase. Enjoy!

Trying to get back on a normal sleep schedule? I know it’s easy to get out of the habit of diffusing at night, but when can you literally get your kid to park it next to a diffuser and breath in essential oils for hours? 🤯
Make it easy – set up a diffuser station with a water pitcher and your fav sleep oils. Mine are Lavender, Gentle Baby, Orange, and SleepyIze. While you’re at it, grab a little bit of carrier oil and use the same oils to give them a quick foot massage. Seriously, this one small habit makes a big difference!

~2 oz. Bottle
~8 drops Citronella
~5 drops Lavender

This go-to hack is seriously going to change how I clean my shower... I can say it probably will become a part of ending my showers on a regular basis. 🤪
Grab a refillable dish brush at the store (get a couple while you’re at it!) – Add 2-3 caps of thieves cleaner, a couple of squirts of thieves dish soap, and top off the rest with water.
Keeping it clean and smells SO good every day! You’ll thank me later👐🏼
I put a drop of the oil in my hand cup it over my nose and inhale as I imagine viewing myself, for instance, as compassionately and with as much acceptance as I do my friends and my clients... I make it part of a practice to calm the internal chatter and view things from a place of neutrality.

•Reduce the appearance of blemishes - add to your moisturizer at night or add it to a face mist
•Use as a perfume
•Calm down your kiddos
•Combine with Epsom salts and equal drops copaiba and Peace & Calming
•Use it to refocus and stay present. Put a drop or two on the palm of your hand, mix and cup your hands over your nose and take several deep breaths.
•Diffuse alone or combine with bergamot, lavender and spearmint.
•Make a sleep spray.
•Overactive kids? Diffuse during nap time or during quiet time.
•Add to a few drops to a car vent diffuser for those long commutes home.
•Use during yoga or meditation.

How Scents Affect Your Body and Mood:
Mood and scent are closely linked. This connection happens because odor molecules in fragrance bind to proteins along your nasal passage and create electrical signals.
These signals can interact with a part of your brain called the limbic brain and affect your emotions, thoughts, and memory.
Molecules are also small enough to cross the blood-brain barrier and interact with your nervous system. Some scents can help lower blood pressure and heart rate and change brain activity.
Candles Promote Relaxation:
You might turn to candles after a long day or when you’re feeling stressed. Burning a candle can help lower stress and promote relaxation. These benefits come more from the scent than the candle itself.
