Let’s ring in the NEW.

New year. New opportunities. New experiences. New skills. New mindsets. There’s a lot ahead for us in the next twelve months, which, yes, will include a great deal of change. My advice is don’t shy away from that. Don’t fear it. Don’t run from it. Do what the first responders in our world do – run towards it. Get ahead of it. Embrace it.

For my real estate friends, look at the new year as a fresh canvas eagerly waiting for your expert artistry. Remember, every property you show has the potential to become someone’s dream home. Every home you sell helps someone get a better return for their investment. Every conversation you have with consumers is an opportunity to advocate for someone and serve them. Your dedication and expertise help to turn houses into homes and dreams into realities, and negative headlines to the contrary; people need you now more than ever.

Certainly, it’s a complicated world we live in, and for most, the year we just put in the books behind us has felt like a whole lot of friction and unease.

Let me remind you, though, that it is the friction of the pencil sharpener that creates the point that allows you to write.

It’s the pressure and heat of the earth that turns carbon into diamonds.

It is grit and discomfort that is the catalyst for the oyster to transform a grain of sand into a pearl.

It is the resistance of the wind that makes a kite fly higher.

It is in the breakdowns where we can find the breakthroughs.

Change is in your DNA. You have it within you to rise to the challenges in the year ahead with grace, hope, kindness, and skill, and for those times when you might not feel that way, tag me in. I’ll remind you. It’s important that we collectively march into this new year with our minds right, our willingness to learn and grow strong, and our commitment to serve higher than ever. Now that’s something to salute! Happy New Year, everyone!
