The Proposed Itinerary
Day 1, Monday, 10/7
Depart on an evening flight from the USA.
Day 2, Tuesday, 10/8
Arrive in London and settle into our hotel, visit, and rest.
Day 3, Wednesday, 10/9
London: Visit the Museum of Methodism, the Wesley Chapel, the John Wesley’s House, and the grave of John Wesley. Adam Clarke is also buried here. And John Bunyan is buried across the road.
Other places in London as time permits.
Day 4, Thursday, 10/10
In the morning, we will drive from London to Epworth, where Samuel and Susannah Wesley pastored and raised their children.
In the afternoon, we will tour the house and grounds of the Wesley home. This is the house where John (at the age of 5) was saved as a “brand plucked from the burning” when the house caught fire.
In the evening, we will lodge at the quaint Red Lion Inn in Epworth, where John Wesley stayed on occasion.
Day 5, Friday, 10/11
On this day, we will drive to Oxford, the home of the world-famous Oxford University, where John and Charles Wesley were students. After getting settled in our hotel, we will begin our tour of Oxford.
Day 6, Saturday, 10/12
Today our tour of Oxford will include visiting Christ Church at Oxford, where Wesley was a student. Oxford is where Wesley was ordained deacon in Christ Church Cathedral.
We will visit Magdalen College (part of Oxford University), where C.S. Lewis was a professor, and we will walk Addison’s Walk, a picturesque footpath around a small island in the River Cherwell in the grounds of Magdalen College. It was a favorite walk of C.S. Lewis.
We will also visit the Kilns, the house of C.S. Lewis. The Kilns is where the author, C. S. Lewis, wrote all of his Narnia books and other classics.
We will visit other places as time permits.
Day 7, Sunday, 10/13
After leaving Oxford, we will drive to Bath but make a stop in the beautiful Cotswolds, where we will have a picnic. In the evening, we will stroll around downtown Bath.
Day 8, Monday, 10/14
We will go to nearby Bristol and discover the world’s oldest Methodist building in the centre of Bristol, John Wesley’s New Room– the Room that changed the world. Three hundred years ago, John Wesley started a mission here that sparked a worldwide movement. We will visit his 18th century chapel and his room where he lived while in Bristol.
After this we will drive across town to the George Mueller Estate where you can sit at the very desk where George Mueller studied his Bible and prayed with thousands of orphans.
In the late afternoon, we will drive to Wales and stay the night.
Day 9, Tuesday, 10/15
Our travels in Wales will take us to Moriah Chapel, where the great Welsh revival of 1904-1905 broke out under the leadership of the young Evan Roberts. In this revival, 100,000 people were converted in just one year. We will visit the grave of Evan Roberts on the church grounds and take a guided tour of the church with an explanation of the revival.
Day 10, Wednesday, 10/16
Drive back to London/airport hotel with a stop or two as time permits. These stops may include Stonehenge and the White Cliffs of Beachy Head (similar to the White Cliffs of Dover).
Day 11, Thursday, 10/17
Take a morning flight home to the USA.
+++As usual for Tribe of Dan Tours, there will be interesting documentaries to watch and recommended books to read in preparation for the tour.

One of our favorite countries in the world is Greece, and one of our favorite places in Greece is Meteora. All three of our tours to Greece in the next 14 months will visit this place. The picture below is one of the monasteries we visit in Meteora.
Martha and I often say that if we were to move out of the United States, we would move to Greece. Why? Most everyone in Greece speaks English because they start learning it from first grade. The food in Greece is healthy and delicious. The people are some of the friendliest people in Europe. The road system is wonderful. Eighty percent of the country is covered in mountains. You are never farther than 85 miles from the sea no matter where you are. There are many islands you can visit, including Patmos. There is an abundance of biblical and historical sites. The Mediterranean climate. The dollar goes much farther in Greece than in Western Europe.
The September 5-16, 2024 trip has seats available. The April 2024 trip is full, as is the April, 2025 trip.
Walk in the footsteps of St Paul. Visit great historical and cultural sites all over this beautiful land. Go to TribeofDanTours.com and click on "Upcoming Trips" then find the September 2024 trip and click on "More Information". There, you will find lots of information including the itinerary.
After that, contact us to reserve your place. Email: [email protected] or call 513-328-8852. Do not call between March 19-May 5 because we will be gone to Europe hosting trips. Email us at that time.
Just to clarify: Our Italy trip (spring 2024) has two seats available. Our Greece (spring 2024) trip is full. Our Switzerland trip (2024) is full. Our Greece (fall 2024) trip has seats available. The Turkey & Patmos (Seven Churches trip) which includes Istanbul also has available seats. That trip is also in the fall of 2024.

TOUR ITALY WITH TRIBE OF DAN TOURS APRIL 2-11, 2024.
This ten-day trip to Italy will take you to Rome, Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, the famous Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, and the island of Capri.
In Rome, we will visit the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Vatican, St Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Mamertine prison (where the Apostles Paul and Peter were imprisoned), the Catacombs, and more. We will even walk on the Via Appia (the ancient Roman road upon which Paul walked into Rome).
After taking the high-speed train to Naples, we will drive to the top of Mt. Vesuvius. Its eruption in 79 AD destroyed the city of Pompeii, whose ruins we will also visit.
At Sorrento, we will take a day trip by boat around and to the beautiful mountainous island of Capri, a favorite hangout of Roman emperors. Here, we will take a chair lift to the top of the highest mountain and get an unbelievable view of the island, the Mediterranean Sea, and the mainland of Italy. Charles Dickens once wrote, “There is no spot in the world with such delightful possibilities of repose (and I would add views) as this little isle.”
The following day, we will take a boat ride along the gorgeous Amalfi Coast and have a meal in one of its delightful cliffside towns.
This is a trip that will long be remembered and cherished. If you have wanted to see Italy, this is your chance.
The price should be in the $2,370 range (double occupancy) plus airfare and food.
We will provide you with hours of informative documentaries to watch before departure, as well as a Scripture reading guide of relevant biblical passages.
This trip will heavily emphasize the lives of the Apostles Paul and Peter especially as it relates to their martyrdom in Rome.

Check it out and if you have questions, please call or text 513-328-8852 or email [email protected] or send a message here on FB. I suspect that it will never get cheaper to go to the Holy Land.
Also, Tribe of Dan Tours is scheduling 2024 trips. If you want to join a 2024 trip, please let us know. Or if you want to schedule a trip for a group, it is definitely not too early for that to begin. Some groups have already taken some of the openings.
We still have some available seats for this phenomenally priced 10-day Tour of the Holy Land. May 8-17. $2,100 excluding airfare. Airfare from Chicago to Tel Aviv round trip is $926 today. Various factors have come together to make this one of the lowest-priced trips Tribe of Dan Tours has ever offered to Israel. See below a list of the sites that will be visited.
The trip features the following:
Transportation in a beautiful bus with air-conditioning and wifi.
Small group between 20-30 people.
Tour guide sound system provided. You put in an earbud, and you can hear the guide at all times without effort.
Pre-trip study materials, a suggestive packing list, a biblical reading guide for all the sites, a document filled with travel advice from former travelers to Israel on Tribe of Dan Tours, a prayer guide for the trip, a book that I have authored with pictures and descriptions and a spiritual application for each one of the sites that are visited. This helps you remember what you learned at each site. The book is sent to you at the conclusion of the trip.
Transportation, entry to all sites, accommodations, all breakfasts (very large buffet), and three out of the seven evening dinners are included in the price.
In Jerusalem, you will stay at Ramat Rachel. It offers 4-star accommodation in a tranquil garden setting, with free access to one of Israel’s largest sports complex next door with indoor swimming, hot tub, sauna, etc. Ramat Rachel is the first kibbutz founded in Israel. A free tour of the kibbutz is offered. Large breakfast and buffet supper included in the price for the three nights stay.

If you have ever thought about visiting Israel, this might be the trip for you. It is priced $1,000-$1,500 less than most 10-day trips to Israel. How can we do it? We don’t use an Israeli tour company as the middleman. We go directly to bus companies, hotels, etc. Plus, this particular trip has several other factors that have reduced the price far more than any other trip we have been able to offer. It will not be repeated.
If you need or want references who have been on our trips, they can be provided by professors, doctors, pastors, and staff members from Ken Ham’s Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.
Interested parties, please contact me at [email protected] or by text or phone call at 513-328-8852.
ISRAEL 2.0 & PETRA (October 3-17, 2023)
We are trying something different this year with those who have been on earlier trips to Israel. We are offering a special trip that visits many places that no first trip to Israel has on its itinerary.
Several places will be revisited that are on a first trip, but something like 15-20 new places, including Petra will be on this itinerary. Places like Ziklag, Bethel, Beersheba, Lachish, Akko, Hazor, Safed, the Herodium, a walk on the Jesus Trail, etc.
The trip is already filling up, but we have room for maybe 10 more. If interested, you will more than likely need to contact me quickly. I have 8 trips total this year (2023), and most of them are already filled to capacity.
[email protected] or 513-328-8852 (call or text). I will send you an itinerary upon request.
Tribe of Dan Tours has eight trips scheduled for 2023. Few of them have any available seats, but fortunately, the first one, April 13-25, has some open spots. This 13-day trip goes from Mt. Hermon in the north to the Red Sea in the south. All major regions of Israel will be visited. If you are interested in the itinerary and the cost, please get in touch with me at [email protected] or call me at 513-328-8852.
A favorite spot when in Cyprus!
A pleasant day that started with a baptismal service at the Jordan, then on to Jericho, Qumran, and to a beautiful stay right on the Dead Sea at Ein Bokek.
Leaving Cyprus tonight for Israel where an election is happening today. Cyprus is a wonderful place to go for a break between tours. The flight from Israel was approximately $150 round trip. The small but sufficient apartment Martha and I rented was $58 a night. It had a balcony/porch with a great view of the valley below and Mediterranean Sea. People are very friendly and can be extremely helpful, going out of their way to help. Almost everyone speaks English. Lots of Brits live here, especially in the western part of the country/island. The food is delicious, the mountains majestic, the sea a deep blue, the roads are good, and I thoroughly enjoyed driving on the left side of those roads. I recommend Cyprus.
The Paphos of Paul. On Paul’s first missionary journal, he and Barnabas left Antioch and sailed to Cyprus where he ended up at Paphos, the capital town of the island. His first recorded conversion was the political leader of the island, the Roman proconsul, Sergius Paulus (Acts 13:4-12). Here is a little commentary on that setting and event recorded today.
Started the day in the mountains, sailed the Mediterranean in the afternoon, settled into our apartment near Paphos in the evening, and ate a delicious Cypriot/Greek meal before bedtime. Cyprus is quite the beautiful place. Very reasonable prices. Friendly people. No wonder it is a favorite retirement spot for Brits.
Martha and I are hanging out in Cyprus until our next group comes to Israel next week. Here are some FACTS ABOUT CYPRUS:
Cyprus enjoys around 320 days of sunshine a year.
Cyprus was the first stop for Barnabas and Paul on Paul’s first missionary journey (Acts 13:4-12). These two evangelized all through the island and made a convert of Sergius Paulus, the proconsul, in the city of Paphos.
Cyprus was once a gift from Roman General Mark Antony to the Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra. A pretty lavish gift indeed.
Legend has it that the Greek goddess of love and beauty–Aphrodite–was born in Cyprus.
The whole town of Paphos is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With a very low crime rate, Cyprus is among the safest places in the world.
People of the island speak a mix of Greek, Turkish and English. Most people we have encountered speak English.
With almost 80% of the population following the Autocephalous Greek Orthodox faith, Easter is the main holiday in Cyprus.
Mount Olympus is the highest peak in Cyprus (a very mountainous place) at 6402 ft above sea level. We are staying on it tonight.
Driving is on the left side of the road. I have to keep my head in the game.
The oldest perfume in the world was discovered in Cyprus.
The island country is divided into two parts. The North and the South. The northern part (36% percent of the land mass) is called the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” while the southern part is called the “Independent Republic of Cyprus” or the “Greek Cyprus.”
Cyprus, officially the Republic of Cyprus, is an island country in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, south of the Anatolian Peninsula. Continentally, it is often geographically placed in Western Asia while being geopolitically placed in Southeast Europe. The third-largest and third-most populous island in the Mediterranean, it is located south of Turkey, east of Greece, and west of Syria. Its capital and largest city is Nicosia.
Cyprus became independent from the British in 1960, on August 16th.
Wonderful group of people. This is their last meal at Joppa before leaving last night. Leading tours in Israel is a highly satisfying employment. I thank God for the opportunity.
Next group arrives in a week. Meanwhile Martha and I are off to Cyprus, the first stopping point of the Apostle Paul and Barnabas on Paul’s first missionary journey.

Things were a bit lively at the Western Wall tonight.
Dr. Speas and Rev. Welch assisted me in baptizing these five in the Jordan River. The service was definitely marked by God’s presence.
After three years, it’s pretty nice to be back. Hosting two groups of 29 people each in the next 5 weeks with a one week break in Cyprus. People coming from 10 states, Canada, and Ukraine. Let normal begin.
Flying from Poland to Israel yesterday, the clear skies gave us a view of Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, the Black Sea, Sea of Marmara, Turkey, Cyprus, the Mediterranean Sea and Israel. The pic is of snow capped mountains in western Romania.
Poland is a very relaxing and charming place, especially in the south where the town of Zakopane is nestled at the foot of the Tatra mountains.
I settled for three out of four.
After another visit to Auschwitz/Birkenau, I am glad to know there is a coming judgment day where God will right every wrong.
A visit to this place should make a person VERY grateful for food, privacy, clean water, hot showers, physical freedom, freedom from abuse of every kind, and life. God forgive us for any lack of gratitude and for complaining about the small inconveniences of life.
When I was here three years ago, I wrote an article entitled Reflections from Auschwitz. If you happen to have any desire to read that article, you can click on the link below, scroll down and read it.

Amazing experience at the Wieliczka Salt Mine near Krakow, Poland today. Here are some facts and pics.
Mining started here in the 13th century.
The mine is 3,000 feet deep.
The tour takes you down 1,000 feet.
You walk down and take an elevator up.
The entire length of all the passageways is 180 miles. It would take four months to see all of it.
The tour shows you 1 percent and yet that takes 2-3 hrs.
There are 20 chapels in the mine carved out for worship.
Prayer was made twice a day and this mine was one of the safest in the world.
In the 14th century salt was worth 67% of silver.
One salt chandelier weighed 1500 pounds.
In the largest chapel/church the Gospel story is depicted on the walls through salt carvings. See pics
Three men worked over a period of 68 years to produce the sculptures and chapels, etc
Church services were held for the miners every Sunday.
