We have had a lot of family health issues, and so I have been busy taking care of family members and kids and going to all the hospital and doctor appointments. Over the past 18+ years, while I have been focused on losing a few pounds and getting optimally healthy, I have fluctuated between four different βwhyβs.β Each βwhyβ served its purpose.

1. βTheβ Event: Preparing for a wedding, a class reunion, summer, and being in a swimsuit.
2. Obligation: Have to, need to, should, must, because people are watching or depending on me.
3. Medical Crisis: Diagnosis such as pre-diabetes, Type II diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, failing knees and hips.
4. For ME: I want to, get to, and choose to lose weight and get healthy. I deserve it. My body deserves it. Everyone I love deserves it.
