I'll be home for Christmas for the first time in many years. All packed and leaving to the airport now. Looking forward to seeing many friends and family. I am also looking forward to doing 3 big Bim shows January 5th and 6th to celebrate 40 years together. All 7 of us that did literally 1000s of shows together, Mark, Jim, Augie, Rick, Vinny and even Johnny O. We have not done this in over 7 years! Hope to see you soon. One of my main responsibilities on this Bim Bam Boom tribute series for Stubborn Records is to get the lyrics to the bands. It is interesting to check them after so long. Today I was asked for the "373" lyrics. I have a long love of Beat Poetry and I took a shot with this one.
The song was written in 1998 and is my beat fantasy of riding the 373 train in the 50's with Jack Kerouac and Neil Cassidy for 6 days all the way from New Orleans to San Francisco. It did about 500 miles per day and was a favorite for many hobos.

One eye just finished with his breakfast in a bag
now he's huffin up another ragweed tag
and we're all musing on what we are gonna do
when we get out of this box on Saturday night.

now he beams as he zones on Yuma's ancient charms
