Whimsey Way Door Decor & More

And so it begins :)

First things first, I need to introduce myself. My name is Kindra. I am a 50 year old stay at home mom raising 2 children who are very nearly raised as they are getting ready to turn 16 and 18 respectively. Needless to say, my child raising days have just about come to an end. I have been married to my coal miner husband, Tim for nearly 24 years and we reside in the southern Illinois town of Benton.

I became interested in making wreaths by what was really just a fluke. I was sitting at home one night alone and scrolling through Facebook when I came across a video that had been live earlier in the night. It had been shared by an old childhood friend from grade school who I had known since 1st Grade. It only caught my attention because it had been shared by a friend so I gave it a look. That video was Debi from Debi’s Wreaths & Things who is a wreath and sign maker who is based out of Mississippi. She was making a wreath out of deco mesh and ribbon and the farther along the video played, the more intrigued I became. I knew virtually nothing about deco mesh and at the time the only thing that I had ever seen made with it was a huge full length sunflower that my sister in law had on her back door a few years ago. It was gorgeous and I told her how much I liked it but never gave it another thought. As I watched this video, I started giving it thought. The end result of what Debi was making was beautiful and it planted the seed that is now growing. I don’t know Debi but I have to give her a huge shout out along with my old friend Lisa who shared the video. Had it not been for this video, I would never have done this. The rest is history and hopefully I can build from there.

Getting this business up and running has been a huge undertaking that has taken a lot of work. I try very hard to make a quality product so I hope that when you look at the items that I make that you can see the care that goes into making them !!! Kindra :)
