EVERY DISABLED DOG, OR CAT DESERVES A CHANCE. AS DO SENIORS AND A COLD HEARTLESS SHELTER IS NOT A PLACE WE WANT THESE BABIES TO DIE. BUT WE CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH.
Tonight I lost one of the most incredible dogs I've ever had it was a boy that was literally minutes from being euthanized in Dekalb County Animal Shelter, in Georgia, in 2012. There was a post of him hugging one of the shelter workers and he was literally minutes from being euthanized and I contacted the shelter and asked them what it is I needed to do to give this boy a chance. They told me that I needed to have a local rescue pull him and I needed to have a place for him to go and transport and all these hurdles that I wasn't sure we would be able to overcome but I asked them to give me 24 hours and they granted me that wish and by 7:00 a.m. I had everything lined up...with a huge thank you to Lynn Herron... in a few short weeks he made the trip south with 8 other MisFit ResQ, Inc. "Dedicated to Finding the Perfect Fit " pups...one of them was his bestie of 12 years... Peaches who I lost 4.14.24. They are now reunited in eternal play. Great green grasses..no anxieties..and no indestructible crates to destroy. He makes IMPACT crates into yard art.
I have been talking to my friend and my sister recently about how I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to him he had been having some difficulty with his back legs and this morning I said okay buddy I'm going to move you this week to the other property so that you can have a nice big yard and then I said to myself well maybe he wants to be home where he's been for the last 12 years with his two little friends Aphrodite and Pancake.. they would've gone with... and tonight he made the decision for me and for himself that he wanted to be home where he has been and he passed away in his sleep and I can't ask for a better situation as much as I hate saying goodbye to him and as much as my heart hurts and my stomach is in knots ...the thought of not seeing him just hurts...but this is what he chose. He looked so incredibly peaceful and any dog mom knows you can't ask for a better way to go.
When I carried him inside, earlier today, for his kibble and helped him get into his bed.. I gave him a big fat kiss on his head and said I'd do this forever if he wanted me to. He didn't ππ

Intake 3.21.24
Ok...I'm going to say it.. I FEKKING HATE PEOPLE more and more as rescue becomes more swamped than ever before!
Welcome Sparkle.. her Merle coloring reminds me of sparkles. Was told she was 1.5yrs old and only the second owner was surrendering her. Turns out I am now her 4th human. Who knows how long she hasn't walked.. the stories keep changing.
Previous owner said Dr said she couldn't walk because of a cesarean.. BU****IT!!! 99.999% sure she can't walk because of IVDD!
Likely 3 years old ..teeth are horrible. We are at vets for xrays, bloodwork, f***l and vaccines. She goes to SEVN and Dr Reese on Monday morning for an MRI. ($3-5K)
Donations for her would be greatly appreciated. She's got a lot of expenses coming.
Warning last two pics show raw skin from skooting.
So that scary little Chewbacca now Zeke got a haircut today when we knocked his ass out and this was the thanks I got after he not only got cleaned up but got an awesome laser acupuncture treatment by Dr Beth.. what a little punk! Ungrateful s**t! ππ€£β€π₯°π€ oh how I love these little feisty fekkers!!
More recent intakes.
ZIZZY 1yr half Pit half Chihuahua.. smart..silly ...playful..must have another dog and fenced yard..
She's so stinking cute and goofy..
Sassy 14 and Deacon 12 two yorkies that their owner passed and no family came for them. No rescues stepped up so we broke down and said yes. They are mostly indoor dogs so an apartment is fine for them. P*e pad users.. and feed separately. They are older so they come with some minor medical aging stuff.
Then we have Grover. Grover originally was with another rescue qnd while they were trying to raise money for a surgery on his elbow that had been dislocated, when he was still a puppy, so I offered to pay for it but also offered to take him so that he could finish growing and then we would revisit the surgical procedure with an orthopedic after he stopped growing. He is a lavender Merle and he is a handful but he's stinking cute and he's a lot taller than your typical French bulldog and he's more slender so to me I feel that he's more of a cross between a French bulldog and a Boston terrier. Either way he's just silly and goofy and he will actually try to bite your Achilles when you walk away from him.. but he does not do it hard ..regardless NO SMALL CHILDREN!!
Couldn't get pics to load for sassy and deacon..will add in edit
Ok so I rarely post here because my profile was so much easier than the page.. but we've got a few other new kids in the last 10 weeks...AND EVEN the last few months.
So.. june 2023 right before my dad died we took in 5 dogs from the same house.we have a momma yellow. lab Pyxie (6) and her daughter Luna (4) who is half catahoula both incredibly smart.. both house broken and crate trained MUST GO TOGETHER. Need a fenced yard.
Then in that bunch is also Daisy a 3yr old small sweetheart.. housebroken and crate trained and also good with dogs. Prefer a home with another dog or someone who doesn't have a heavy work schedule. Yard preferred unless active.
Then there are two small chihuahuas Snickers 14 and KitKat 11.. snickers is super outgoing and kitkat is not.. they can be separated.. must have a fenced yard. Snickers does not act 14..she acts more like 5 or 6
All of them act younger than their years..especially Pyxie and Snickers.
Pics are all out of order...
Meet out new kids... to be available for adoption when all medical has been completed and stray holds and weaning etc...... has been done.
Introducing Lukki ..a 6 yr aussie boarder collie mix ...super freaking smart.. house broken and crate trained and great with other dogs ..shy at first with new people but amazing ...sweet too.
Next up is Kora.. Approximately 3 years old was led to believe she had been overbred and dumped.. turns out..she's pregnant and dumped. Couldn't be a sweeter dog.. she's due any day and when she's ready for her turn she will be up for adoption...
And then we have Chewbacca or is it Zeke aka the Cowardly lion... he was found behind legends pub in FTL. Got a call from a friend to how to catch him.. he bites.. none the less she did fine and he's now with MisFit.. when he's been cleaned up..and fully vetted..we will proceed to adopt ... however he could be a she... hard to touch without risk for right now.. only been a few hours. Check back for progress
Occupational Hazzards
2.5 hours in the ER ...PHONE DIED... NOW HOME π... I'm all stitched up.. 3 stitches and lidocaine is wearing off.. the swelling from lidocaine is going down.. doc did a good job!

Hello donors, volunteers and anyone involved in the welfare of animals.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! TWO 501C3 RESCUES JOINING TO FULFILL A CAUSE.
Recently I, the founder of MisFit ResQ Inc., came across a post about another special needs 501c3 rescue seeking a new rescue vehicle, as theirs is unfixable. While I understand this need, and I have a vehicle in our rescue that is not being used, we also have a need to cover the expenses of the cost of the vehicle. This is when I came up with a possible solution to help 2 rescues with one idea.
MisFit ResQ has a 2012 E350 15 passenger van where the seats have been removed but are still available to be reinstalled. We havent used it and have it for sale. With minimal miles at under 40k, its large size and strong motor for pulling (it would need a tow hitch) and is in great working condition; this could alleviate their problem and solve ours at the same time. We purchased it with 31k miles in 2013 and 4 of the last 10 years were halted for events due to pandemic and other financial circumstances. Recommended to have a full mechanical workup.
Proposal would be to do a joint venture to help both rescues achieve their individual needs with one option.
This fundraiser would also allow for the expense of the vehicle, mechanical work-up and a tow hitch. It has 4 new tires and the battery will be replaced as it has sat. It has minor paint damage, which the dealership tried to cover up for its sale, and two small dings in the back but it has always served us well for transporting the dogs and the best part.. the whole cab is air-conditioned. It also has a remote start and viper alarm system. Plenty of room inside as it is an extended passenger van.
We would be seeking to raise $20,000 to cover all costs. The van will be "sold" to the rescue with your donations as payment which are 100% tax deductible.
Can you help us help them??
For more informstion about their need, the rescue founder Robyn posted this :

Here is the update. The rescue truck is completely shot. We had a company here local that was going to replace it and donate the labor, so all we have to do is buy the transmission. Well, no one around can find a transmission for it under 200k miles, and we will not take that chance.
Now here is the problem. We need a vehicle for the rescue. Either a 4 door pickup or a medium to large SUV. We do everything from it from vet appointments, transporting animals to/from rescue, foster, adopters, our events require the trailer with all the supplies in it, we even have a low cost lawn maintenance program for donations to the rescue that we cannot do now we have nothing to pull the trailer. If we don't have a truck to pull it we cannot do our fundraising events, and our donation % will greatly decrease. We have 1 car, my car, and it is a Toyota Camry. Not nearly big enough for what we need.
I am asking, if anyone is selling a pickup, or SUV, please let me know, or better yet if you can donate it to the rescue, you will be able to claim the donation on your tax returns. Or if someone is willing to cover a monthly truck payment for the rescue, which you can also use as a deduction on your taxes, we would be very thankful. Any help, any ideas, anything!! We are desperate.β
This rescue CH stands for Cerebellar Hypoplasia.. some may wonder what that is so here is some information. Based upon their website the rescue primarily helps cats with this condition but they also help dogs. For more about them Www.chlivesmatterrescue.com
What is cerebellar hypoplasia?
Cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) is a developmental condition in which the part of the brain that controls movement, balance and coordination fails to develop properly. Although it occurs in many animals, it is most commonly seen in cat and dogs. In cats, the syndrome is also known as "wobbly cat syndrome", "drunken kitty syndrome", or "bobble-head kitty syndrome".
CH is not infectious or painful.
Causes
In cats, CH usually occurs when a pregnant cat is infected with feline panleukopenia (AKA parvo or distemper or FPLV) and passes the infection to her unborn kittens. This can happen when the mother is actively infected with the virus or when the mother is given a distemper vaccine while pregnant. One kitten or the entire litter can be affected with CH. In addition, vaccinating kittens for distemper too early can result in CH.
Puppies can also develop CH this way, but the most common way puppies develop CH is surviving parvo within the first few weeks of being born.
Other possible causes of developmental CH include the following.
β’ Hypoxia (low blood oxygen)
β’ Malnutrition
β’ Fungal infection
β’ Protozoal infection
β’ Viral infection
β’ Rickettsial infection (from ticks, fleas, mites, lice)
β’ Traumatic brain injury

About 48 hours ago just as it became Christmas day at 1:55am the camera was disabled and the thief took off with our heavy duty open trailer. Cut the lock off and he was gone by 2am.
The cops were called and your prints taken off the camera and lock you left behind. You masked your face and pulled the camera off and proceeded to steal a trailer belonging to an animal rescue. Here is my message to you. I hope you find yourself standing behind bars when the cops catch you. The streets of Dixie Hwy have cameras..the cities of LW and WPB are working together, they know the time frame because my neighbors were more than helpful in providing the video information they needed.
Should you see this.. you have a chance to return it.. no charges...no questions asked. If you don't.. and when they catch you, which they will I will press charges to the fullest. An act as such ON CHRISTMAS to a charity is disgusting and you deserve the worst.
If anyone sees a trailer with K9KBOOS on the tag...a black bodied heavy duty custom made open trailer, the sides have lower section solid with a rail on top about 4 ibches from the solid part with a red mesh drop tailgate. I it has rust holes on the side of the spare tire (R) and the stand is a drop down on the left of the neck, and has silver painted fenders with a step lip. It's not like a Lowes trailer this is heavy duty.
This is the POS who busted off the camera..pics in comments
I want to say thank you to all those who shared their prayers for Romeo, however, unfortunately when I brought him home I was hoping that we would have at least a little bit of opportunity to try some tricks to see if he would feel better... I gave him some prednisone, gave him some kisses told him it was okay if he wanted to call it quits and if he wasn't we would fight. I proceeded to take one of my dogs up to her appointment with a specialist with traffic and picking up dogs from the groomers and everything else it was about a 3 and a half hour trip almost 4.
.. Sadly when I arrived home the first thing I did was go in and check on Romeo, and Romeo had decided to check out on his own... Perhaps a blessing in disguise but also very hard because I always want to be with our babies when they cross and he opted to leave on his own terms. Rest easy little man..so loved ... bait dog with more forgiveness than comprehensible ππ

Sadly around 515pm on 12.7.23 Jules..one of our long term residents who never found that human (outside the rescue) to love her as unconditionally as she would them gracefully crossed the bridge.
In January she came home to my house from the sanctuary for hospice where she did great for the last 11 months, until 5 days ago Where she began to show signs of dementia, labored ability to get up, stand and walk. When a dog that is highly motivated by food no longer wants to eat then it's to me a definite sign that they are giving up. And when the dog that wants to give up doesn't want to fight anymore if I didn't know it's my duty to do the most humane thing for her and to have her ho peacefully to the next phase of her existence.
Jewels came to us on July 2nd of 2014 because she was surrendered due to breath specific legislation from a military home which I think is extremely wrong and we have laws that have Begun to change however it shouldn't ever be an issue with somebody who's serving our military to have to give up their dog because if their breed. Perhaps, it should be about temperament and if the dog is an unruly dog, then I understand, but it should never have anything to do with breed and everything to do with behavior.... ESPECIALLY for our military.
I reached out to Jacob this afternoon to let him know that she hits been with me all this time and that she had never found that perfect human to call her own aside us and we loved her just as much as we love every other dog that we have be at my own personal or in the rescue and she was part of us and she was part of our family and she will be greatly missed. She was 14yrs old.

These 3 gorgeous girls were surrendered to us with 2 other dogs in June when my father was passing away. The owner had passed, she had 7 dogs and the two daughters did thr best thry could with trying to keep the house. Unfortunately forcing them to move, but also to surrender 5 of their 7 dogs. They kept the two most difficult and moved them to Alabama.
I had originally agreed to take 4 of them the Labrador of the black & white terrier mix and the 2 chihuahuas and when I met with the daughters to pick up the 4 dogs they had also brought the daughter of the labrador which is the black catahula mix.
The yello labrador is Pixie she is 6 years old 75 #
The catahoula lab is Lunq she is 4 years old 60 #
The terrier black and white is Daisy shebis 2 years old. 40 #
All of these dogs are house broken and crate trained and are absolutely wonderful dogs I would have to say the terrier is the best behaved out of the 3 of them the 2 Chihuahua One of them is super skittish however the brown 1 not likely photographed here is very outgoing but also very vocal so no apartments for any of them except maybe possibly Daisy but the lab and the lab mix definitely no apartments must have offensed in yard and must have the time to be able to give them..
Ideally love to be able to keep the mom and the daughter together that's Pixie and Luna.
If you're interested in adapting any of these three beauties please message me in Instagram or email... [email protected]
I think since I was turning 40 I have been asking for birthday donations for the critters of MisFit ResQ...this year at nearly 56 I am asking the same.
Since we are a 501c3 private foundation and not a 501c3 public charity we are not included in the birthday wishes of Facebook yet we are just the same as a public charity doing for the animals what they cannot do themselves or what former owners cannot provide for them.
We have everyday expenses plus some doggies to cover major surgeries or medical needs. Your donations go to help cover those costs.
If you need our mailing address it's:
MisFit ResQ

Thank you for thinking of us..and for honoring my 56th birthday with a donation to their care. Have a beautiful day.

β¦οΈ (UNDER 90 DAYS) State Law 705.102
Under 90 days you have NO legal rights to lost pets you find. This is criminal and civil. The only 'hold time' is 90 days and even then you can still be sued. When a finder of a lost pet decides to 'appropriate the property' that means rehome, use, sell, adopt or give away - it is unlawful because you have no ownership rights yet. When a finder is told to return a lost pet they find and they refuse, it is criminal and you can be arrested. It is theft by finding. If the value of the lost pet / lost property is more than $300 it is a grand theft felony. A lawsuit can and should be filed against the finder or rescue.
705.102 - (3) It is unlawful for any person who finds any lost or abandoned property to appropriate the same to his or her own use or to refuse to deliver the same when required. This means don't rehome or sell or do anything to the lost pet.
(4), (which is criminal), Any person who unlawfully appropriates such lost or abandoned property to his or her own use or refuses to deliver such property when required commits theft.
The rescue community is inundated, shelters are overflowing, and it's impossible to keep up! Healthy, beautiful, good dogs are being euthanized at an alarming rate because of the influx....we need the public to do their part... SPAY AND NEUTER!!
For every litter that is born you are killing that amount of dogs in a shelter or rescue... Because when a rescue is full they cannot take the dogs out of shelters .... I don't know what part of this is impossible to understand for the public... Stop being selfish!!!
You want to buy that puppy from a breeder I get it but do your homework find out how those puppies are tested from the parents, genetics and deficiencies. Find out how they treat the parents, meet the parents, see their facility... Most importantly, find out what they do with the dogs that don't get adopted, or that are retired!!!
Some dogs are just meant to be here to heal you when you're broken... Aphrodite is one of my healers!!!
Aphrodite therapy...best kind there is... free and furry! I think she would morph into me if she could.... just love her! Sorry not for adoption!!
