What am I going to do??? I received so many amazing shots of my client from her maternity shoot. It's so hard to pick and not post them all!!

We did a matte, naturally contoured makeup look for this shoot 😍 Isn't she beautiful?

Love what I do~ Some of my favorite things to do: makeup & styling curly hair 😍 It's like painting & sculpting.

STRUGGLED SO BAD. 2 years ago, I had a horrendous allergic reaction to some skincare and makeup. The swollen, peeling dry skin around my eyes, lips, temples and forehead would flare up badly, only steroids made it go away. But then it would always come back!

Later found out I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide, other acne treatments, makeup ingredients (still figuring out which ones! But often powdered makeup is a no no for me).

ANYWAYS. I stopped using active ingredients because it seemed like my skin couldn't handle it. It was so painful and dry. Then I started breaking out more without any medication & my skin became extremely clogged. Later found out my skin can handle salicylic acid but it still wasn't enough to keep the acne away (though over time it helped reduce blackheads and white heads). I didn't care anymore if I had to spend extra. I went for hydrofacials & bought all sorts of skincare. But still I had clogged skin!!!

After discovering also suffered from skin issues (which I didn't know for the longest time because his skin looks flawless!) I took the leap to buy Elemis pro-collagen makeup cleansing balm which he uses all the time... I was afraid to spend so much on a cleanser, esp since it was a balm being acne prone.

LET ME TELL YOU!! I REGRET NOT DOING THIS SOONER. I'm finally healing from using skincare without harsh chemicals. I don't have to rely on topical steroids which clear up my skin but revert like rashes with a vengeance) I wish I could show the photos of the aging crepey skin under my eyes and the rashes to show how much it healed but I don't have any cuz it was gross.

Elemis' cleansing balm in combination with other skincare really healed my skin. I use it daily as a face wash and to clean at night. It really cleanses without stripping my skin.

I used the Tri Acid peel once and it did WAY more in cleaning my skin than the hydrofacial also without aggravation. It's expensive but actually more cost effective in the long run. Then the Marine Collagen helped repair my super damaged skin. I also did use a night mask by Soon Jung to seal in all the hydration. New holy grails!

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to create Danielle's makeup look for her maternity shoot. She's just so precious!! How stunning is she? She is. Both inside & out.

Swooning over this color 😍 Tried something new and fell in 💕. Had some fun cutting & styling this short bob too

Note: notice how the color looks different between natural light (first three) vs florescent lighting (last photo). It's funny because I took it in the same location but depending on the angle I took a photo, different lighting was captured. Beautiful either way but interesting 🤣🤣.

🌸Textured Short Cut🌸 Carving short hair is SO fun and allows for so much artistic freedom. This style can be worn either blown out or for a more whimsical look, with some waves (usually my client wears it wavy which is so cute but we went with a more sleek, city look).

AIR TOUCH. 1st time getting highlights, 1st haircut in 7 years 😮

For a soft focus blend, we did a teasylight service (tho technically I performed an air touch service so no teasing was involved). Air touch is when you use a blow dryer to push out the baby hairs, growth, or breakage and lift the remaining hair. The effect is similar to a teasylight but allows for better replication in the future since it's not as random. This allows for healthier hair that mitigates the risk of breakage on fragile hair. For maximum blonding, I went with a horizontal pattern.

My major focus was evening out the tones in her hair so we did a corrective service. It was very dark and kinda orangey underneath while the top was a super bright blonde. Her hair was fragile at the top from the sun photo bleaching (it happens naturally for light haired folks) so I started way in the back with a gentle lightener and eventually did the top last. I had to double lift her ends in the back since they were resistant to lift as well.

After all that, we did a root melt, glaze, olaplex, and cut. Service time was 5-6 hrs. I wish I still had the videos but I lost all my footage on my old phone 😢. But cheers to a beautiful creamy blonde 🥂

Sorry I've been MIA guys! My phone broke so I lost almost all of my content. It's been a long process to try to get it repaired but ultimately it wasn't salvageable according to the technicians. As soon as I get my new phone setup and new content captured, I'll be back to posting more regularly.

For now, here's a little eye candy from some color from the holidays I did that I haven't posted yet. Thankfully I found some copies of the photos in client chats.

This is a carefully placed traditional foil with root melt and cut. As you can see, there's a lot of depth showing through since it doesn't have as many foils as a babylight.

WHAT IS A MODERN S**G?

Traditionally a s**g cut has extremely short layers on the top with a very wispy tail. I feel like the modern s**g sits somewhere between that traditional s**g and long round layers (think the Rachel Haircut from Friends).

The general shape is similar to the three cuts in which it has a balloon shape (round fullness/ volume on top with less volume on the bottom).

The modern s**g has light wispy layers on top without compromising the perimeter (bottom part of the hair) and without creating too much of the dated tail. It's easier to grow out with a versatile look.

Hey all! I've decided to transition my bridal & special events content to another page because:

1) I have too much going on in one account.
2) It's aesthetically pleasing to view the same time of content at a high level (my personal preference since I'm a little OCD with visuals).
3) Longing for creative liberty to turn it into a medium where I can express my love for the craft of hair & makeup. I feel like if I post certain types of content here, it will distract from my daily work. Unfortunately weddings, prom, etc. don't happen on a daily basis so I don't post that type of work frequently on this account this becoming scattered.
