Our doormat gave our friends a giggle! ๐Ÿ˜‚
How is it?

I saw this idea somewhere, I hope whoever came up with it gets due credit. Great idea! Our neighbor is older and lives alone so I gave her 3 colour pieces of paper for her window which faces our kitchen window. Green is for I'm OK, yellow for need help with an errand, and red for emergency. I call it Isolation Communication ๐Ÿ™‚ Let's all look out for each other people.

A father said to his daughter โ€œYou have graduated with honors, here is a Jeep I bought many years ago. It is pretty old now. But before I give it to you, take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them I want to sell it and see how much they offer you for it.โ€

The daughter went to the used car lot, returned to her father and said, โ€œThey offered me $1,000 because they said it looks pretty worn out.โ€ The father said, now โ€œTake it to the pawn shop.โ€

The daughter went to the pawn shop, returned to her father and said,โ€The pawn shop offered only $100 because it is an old Jeep.โ€ The father asked his daughter to go to a Jeep club now and show them the Jeep.

The daughter then took the Jeep to the club, returned and told her father,โ€ Some people in the club offered $100,000 for it because โ€œit's an iconic Jeep and sought by many collectors.โ€

Now the father said this to his daughter, โ€œThe right place values you the right way,โ€ If you are not valued, do not be angry, it means you are in the wrong place. Those who know your value are those who appreciate you..... Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.

"I find myself sitting in the parking lot at Kroger, trying to compose myself. You see, while inside getting groceries, I came upon a little girl prancing down the aisle, making a crazy noise. I turned around to see this young lady wearing massive boots compared to her tiny body. At first, I just giggled and continued shopping. But, I ended up in the check-out lane behind her and her mother. As good southerners do, we struck up a conversation. I told the little girl I liked her boots. She had a massive grin on her face and began to speak. She let me know those boots belonged to her Daddy. Today would have been his birthday, but he was killed last year in 'Afghan Stan.' To feel better about today, she was allowed to wear his boots. As her mom started to cry, so did I, as did the cashier. Apparently, the gentleman behind me heard the story and gave the little girl a cupcake out of the dozen he was buying. He told the little girl to always eat a cupcake for her dad's birthday. He told her that her dad was a hero and she should be proud to be his daughter. Please remember why we are able to celebrate America. Let's stop to think about those who protect the freedom we often take for granted!"

It was on this date in 1989 when Secretariat left this earth. The news reverberated across the sports world and beyond, including as the top story in USA Today.

In a special tribute published a few days later in the New York Times, owner Penny Chenery shared some favorite recollections of her charismatic champion, including how Big Red always was aware of his surroundings. Upon his retirement to stud at Claiborne Farm, โ€œhe became as friendly as an old puppy dogโ€ -- even letting families pose babies on his withers. โ€œSecretariat seemed to realize his role then was to be a folk hero. His demeanor was that of a champion in whatever he was asked to do,โ€ Chenery remembered. โ€œHe was not only a champion race horse, but a cherished friend.โ€
