We all want a nutritious Summertime tea as the weather heats up, and so I'll get this question every year: Can I make sun tea with my loose leaf teas. The short answer is yes you can. But the part 2 of that question is, is it safe? To which I'd answer, how's your luck? While the risks of getting sick is usually low, making sun tea can become a breeding ground for bacteria, and cause illness. Some folks risk it and are fine, but for me personally, I prefer one of these 2 methods. For teas that contain simple leafy herbs: Simply add cold water and refrigerate for 4-6 hours. If my jar contains an added black tea, or stronger herbs with roots, such as ginger, turmeric, dandelion, or burdock, then I prefer to add boiling water to the jar, steep that in the refrigerator for a good 1-2 hours and then pour over ice. Stay cool and enjoy everyone 😎

While you're all packing up for your holiday weekend, here are some reminders why iced tea is the smarter choice:

1) Much healthier than alcohol
2) Cold and refreshing
3) Much cheaper than alcohol
4) No hangovers
5) No one ever blew off their fingers while drinking iced tea
6) No DUIs
7) No regrets

One of the things I love about Facebook is the Memories they share with us. This is when and where it all began 6 years ago, in my backyard. I was growing my own mint, chamomile, lemon balm, and lemon verbena that first Summer while working Wednesday afternoons at the Eastside Farmer's Market. I think I started with only 3 tea blends lol. It didn't take long at all before I realized I was going to have to begin ordering my herbs in bulk. But what a fun Summer it was 🌱🌿

REIKI I & II

Hello friends, At the requests of one of my clients, I'll be teaching another Reiki Class. I prefer to keep my class sizes on the smaller side, so this class will be limited to 6 seats. If more than 6 people respond then we will add a second date to accommodate everyone. The information for this class is as follows:

What: I'll be covering both Reiki I & II Materials/Certifications
When: Saturday August 17th 2024
Time: 10:00 - 5:00 with lunch, teas, and waters provided (you are welcome to bring snacks and drink for yourself as well)
Where: At my Lansing home (info given at time of deposit)
Cost: $200.00 total including a $50.00 deposit to hold your seat.
Please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies at time of sign up. Also note that while they are never allowed in the Reiki Room, there are 2 cats in the house.

Happy Mothers Day ladies! Wishing you a day full of peace, love, and joy 💚

Hi friends, I'm just popping in to share this: If you're in the Jackson area today and looking to get out of the cold, you can stop into the Spring Holistic Fair at The Infinite Light Center. I had other work obligations the past few days, and so I opted out of working the fair this time. But I stopped in for a few hours to visit with these dear, beautiful friends. There are many more there as well! They'll all be there until 6:00 today and then they'll be back again tomorrow from 12-5.

As we prepare for this Sunday's holiday dinner, many may already be stressing about spending time in the company of toxic family members. We know the drill. Everything starts out nice and calm, but next thing you know you're passing the potatoes, and that one family member will surely bring up the story that they already know provokes us. My advice is that we can practice a trial run before we even get there, and remember our choices.

Imagine your feet are standing on the beach just out of reach of the calm water. When suddenly the waves begin to pick up, and the tide starts to come in. Here's where we make our choice. We can stand still, take some mindful breaths and observe how much the water is going to affect us. Just how wet are you willing to get? Or we can take a step back and choose not to let the water affect us at all. Or we can take a step forward. But know this, if you take that step forward, you have now surely chosen to engage in tumultuous water.

I never had the opportunity of meeting Mr Keller personally, but I'm sharing here for all of you who follow me at Keller's Plaza. I know you'll join me in sending our loving energy to his family. 💜

Some sad news today, our good friend and dear landlord Dr. Ralph Keller passed Sunday night. His kindness, and ripples of that kindness, was felt by untold people throughout the years. I personally have Dr. Keller to thank for helping me to continue a dream of being a studio/shop owner. I always enjoyed when he would stop in the shop and have a seat and visit. He would do daily Keller’s Plaza check ins to see if we needed anything, or if he could help us in some way. Your kindness did not go unnoticed or unappreciated, thank you. :)

Funeral is Friday, 10 am at St. Mary's in Williamston. Mass at 11 am. Burial is at Evergreen in E. Lansing followed by a meal at Coral Gables.

For those who were disappointed, I want you to know that Willow Richmond, who was going to be the reader at that event, will now be joining us at the Valentine's Event at Keller's Plaza on Feb. 10th, so this is another opportunity for Tea and Tarot, and a fun filled day.

Happy Saturday friends! This event has not been created online yet, but here's a heads up for my planners to mark your calendars: I've just accepted an invitation from my buddy and favorite D.J., Matt Mulford, (The Artisan Alcove) to join his Valentine's Pop Up Celebration upstairs in Keller's Plaza on Saturday, February 10th. I accepted with the promise that he would play the music of a few of my favorite loves, so do expect to hear a few songs from David Cassidy and Peter Frampton when you come visit me. 🥰💕

Hello friends, it’s hard for me to conceive that it’s New Year’s Eve again already. But here we are, just a few hours away from 2024. I am so grateful to have had another wonderful year of providing teas, products, and services for you all. I thank you for all of your love, dedication and continued support. I truly appreciate each and every one of you, and I look forward to another year together.

Each new year naturally brings us hopes and inspirations as we all look forward to new opportunities, new blessings, new relationships and better health. And certainly, many new wonderful possibilities will indeed come our way; but before we can be ready and open to fully receive these blessings, it is important that we remember to be grateful for all that we have, and to accept that there are doors that must also be closed, hearts that must be healed, and good-byes said to a mindset and habits that no longer serve us. As we close these doors, remember that everything was right for its time. It’s not about what went right or wrong. Simply say thank you for the memories, as well as the life lessons that we take forward along this journey.

In addition to my annual burning bowl ceremony this morning, I’ll be taking these next few hours to sit in silence, filling my heart with gratitude and sending out an immense amount of love to the universe while focusing my energy on visions of friends, loved ones, all who gather here, myself and especially to anyone who is hurt so deeply inside that they wish any form of ill intentions for me and or others. It is easy to sometimes want to reciprocate that hurt, but one, that is not a wise energy to try to manifest yourself a wonderful new year with, and two, love truly is the answer. The more of it that we send out, the more beautiful the vibration that surrounds us all.

Your 2024 is like a fresh canvas. My wish is that you all find the inspiration to paint all of your dreams and aspirations upon it. Wishing you a very safe, warm and happy New Year!
