So sad to see other contractors and/or nurseries plant or sell plants and trees which have completely outgrown their container...Wow! Look at this Big one! Right? Well, No! Wrong!! Bigger is not always better! (2-1/2 minutes :-) #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #haveroomtogrow #growingpeopleandtrees

Too many trees are over-raised and stripped out leaving the bulk of the foliage at the ends or top of the tree. This practice, often called lion-tailing, is extremely damaging to trees, weakens branches and often leads to failure. A balanced pruning with a low center of mass is much better and greatly improves sustainability. 4 min. #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #hugatreewhenugetnearit #growingpeopleabdtrees

As Spring is quickly approaching, the trees are getting ready to take off! Our fast growing desert and desert adapted trees are notorious for having poor branch attachments and this is something we should all be on the lookout for. Wow! Following up on John’s post...What a wonderful day last Thursday! The Annual Clean Cut Training and Employee Appreciation Day Party. Everyone was enjoying the day so much we did not get a lot of pics! We had Five different training blocks set up with lots of equipment and best practices demonstrations. There was a lot of good discussion and invaluable feedback from employees too. A big thank you to John Nation for being tuff enough, smart enough, and kind enough to build such a wonderful business we are all a part of. Thank you! #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #trainingpeopleandtrees #happyholidaysfromcleancut

Tree & Plant Lovers! Pruning Lesson 004-Following Up. How is it Thanksgiving next week πŸ™‰Somebody tell me??? Craziness!!! As you all know by now, I am a big nature lover and part tree hugger, for sure! No. 1 Steve Irwin fan (miss him greatly). However, we must have great respect for the dangerous. Bees are amazing pollinators and without them, a large portion of our food supply would not exist! Please take some time to educate yourself and your kids about the benefits and dangers of bees. Have a plan in case of emergency and β€œBee” careful when your enjoying the great outdoors πŸ™‚ Have a great Pre-Halloween Weekend! πŸŽƒ #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #beebeautifulbeecareful Have you decided what you are going to β€œBee” for Halloween??

What! Fall! Already! πŸŽƒ Thank goodness for the cooler temperatures...But allergies are peaking and here is one of the reasons why! Winter Lawn, or Overseeding Time! Good grief, I was struggling to make this video with itchy nose and burning eyes! #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #cooltobecoolinarizona #pleaseprayforhealinginvegas

Tree & Plant Lovers! Pruning Lesson 003 - More on the importance of structural pruning of young trees. Think about it, with any tree, improving the branch structure is the most important type of pruning by far. Eliminating or relieving structural defects is the best thing you can do to improve sustainability, period. #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #trainingpeopleandtrees #hugatreewhenugetnearit

Yesterday the entire team scrambled to assist our clients with more storm damage following Thursday night's weather havoc. It seems we cannot go more than a week lately without another tree mess; nothing compared to Texas and Florida though, so let's keep praying and doing what we can for them too... #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #cleancuthasyourback #loveyourhardhat

I know! Don't Laugh! Dressed like it's Christmas on September 1, when it's 109 out! Hey, check your stakes! Not the ones on the grill for the holiday πŸ™‚ All the best from the Clean Cut Team! Enjoy! #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #hugatreewhenugetnearit #checkyourstakes #iamreadyforchristmas

Tree & Plant Lovers! Pruning Lesson 002. Structural Pruning continued: This Elm Tree was all over the ground when I walked up (I did not take initial picture, sorry) and had busted out of it's stakes. It is tempting to just re-stake, right? Wrong...I checked the trunk and it was strong. The tree was just happy and grew very fast! It was extremely top heavy. Time for the first structural pruning (see prior post, lesson 001). Again, tempting to just take some weight off, right? No, take the time to make intentional and thoughtful cuts NOW. Then only re-stake if absolutely necessary-maybe a good idea during monsoon season, of course. As a rule of thumb, trees should only be staked for the first year or so-And not too restricted. #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #trainingpeopleandtrees #hugatreewhenugetnearit

We are in the middle of the storm season and finishing up the palm tree pruning season. Every reputable company is 4-6 weeks booked out. Doesn't matter though! Earlier this week we responded to this urgent call super fast and did not wait for the crane. The owner of this car was very happy when he drove off within just a couple hours, car saved! Note: This Palo Verde was planted way to close to the building, causing it to push away from it and not allowing for a good root structure on the building side. #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #youcancountoncleancut

All work and no play makes Steve a dull boy :-) Fun day at the BIG AACM Annual Tradeshow! #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #goodcleanmarketingfun #johnisoutnetworking

Yes, it is often difficult to make the perfect pruning cut; however, it is never good to leave big stubs. Make the best final cut you can, being sure not to cut into the bark and cambium tissue (just below the bark) of the parent branch. Have a great weekend! #theonlygoodcutisacleancut #theonlygoodstubisyourpaystub
