The DB GO Getter's from Lancaster were having a great time at their Basketball Team practice. Practice was held at the Lancaster Recreation Center. They have been working on their dribbling, passing and shooting skills. At the end of each practice, all the team members participate in a 3-point shooting game. We have three players hitting shots past the 3-point line. Keep it going Go Getters!

Daybreak had a meeting with Art instructor Henry Salley last year around March. We invited potential interested artists with disabilities to the meeting. He explained the structure of his art classes to the group. The group asked questions and really did not show much confidence in themselves to have the abilities to be true artists. Mr. Salley asked them for an opportunity to teach one class before they made up their minds. The group got excited and decided to give the class a try. A year later doing one class per month, Daybreak has 8 artists on board and ready for their first ever art show. The 8 art students have shown tremendous growth and confidence in their abilities to learn. They will be showing art portraits at Lubbock Garden and Arts Center.
Summer Williams - received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for her artwork.
Shanna Fugitt - sold a painting for $135.00. She also received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for her artwork.
Traci Halterman - sold a painting for $140.00. She received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for her artwork.
Michelle Davis - she received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for her artwork.
Robert Durrett - he received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for his artwork.
Stephanie Brunson - she received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for her artwork.
Candy Cook - she received a blue first place ribbon and a gold ribbon for her artwork.
Jonathan Morales was unable to attend due to being on a visit with his family.

Very proud of all of our artists. Next art show will be Sunday November 3rd at Lakeridge United Methodist Church 9:00 am to noon.
