Daybreak had a meeting with Art instructor Henry Salley last year around March. We invited potential interested artists with disabilities to the meeting. He explained the structure of his art classes to the group. The group asked questions and really did not show much confidence in themselves to have the abilities to be true artists. Mr. Salley asked them for an opportunity to teach one class before they made up their minds. The group got excited and decided to give the class a try. A year later doing one class per month, Daybreak has 8 artists on board and ready for their first ever art show. The 8 art students have shown tremendous growth and confidence in their abilities to learn. They will be showing art portraits at Lubbock Garden and Arts Center.
