This little girl was scared when she walked up to the Morrow GA Police Department Chief.
She had tears in her eyes and wanted to know if her mother’s boyfriend was ever going to come home.
The man was arrested today after he was pulled over for speeding and distracted driving and then allegedly tried to fight the arresting officer.
This sweet little girl was in the car when it happened and she must have been terrified.
The Officers on the scene told me Police Chief David Snively got right down on the ground to talk to her.
He told her it was going to be ok and the adults would figure it out.
That it was going to be ok.
She listened to him with those tears in her eyes and she leaned right in for a hug.
You can see the compassion in this picture as he embraced her right back.
The Chief had no idea this picture was being taken - that wasn’t the point - the point was to show compassion, respect, and humanity during a terrifying moment in this little girl’s life.
I don’t know what the charges will be or what will come of the case... I don’t know what she will remember of the arrest… but I am sure she will remember that this Chief treated her with kindness.
