MEET THE JUDGES!!!
Today, we'd like to introduce you all to one of the judges for our event! Shelby Rose is the current 2023 Miss Quincy and is also a student at the University of Alabama majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Digital Consumer Engagement. She is apart of Phi Mu, the Public Relations Student Society of America, the Alabama Student Recruitment Team, and is a social media marketing intern for Tuscaloosa Angels. Shelby also started a non profit at the age of 13 called Fostering Hope that provides hope to foster children and foster families. Shelby currently works at Tuscaloosa Flower Shoppe while at college and Tanning Unlimited when she is home. During her free time she enjoys reading, hunting and spending time with her pup Willa Grace!

MEET THE JUDGES!!!!
Our next judge is no stranger to the music industry.
Dr. Todd Pettit was born and raised in Quincy, Illinois. He is a 1989 graduate of Quincy Senior High School and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education with a minor in piano performance from Quincy University, a master's degree in Education School Administration from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Education - School Leadership from Saint Louis University.
Dr. Pettit began his teaching career with QPS before moving to Indianapolis, IN where he worked in arts and music education at Butler University, University of Indianapolis before beginning a 7-year tenure as Music Education Specialist with Perry Township Schools. During his time with Perry Township Schools, Pettit received the State Life Membership award from the Congress of Parents & Teachers. Upon completion of graduate school at Indiana University, Pettit relocated to south Illinois serving as Assistant Principal for Collinsville Middle School for 3 years, followed by Principal of Kreitner Elementary School for 7 years.
Pettit returned to Quincy in 2019 accepting the position of Director of Music Education with Quincy Public Schools. During this tenure, he led the K-12 music programs through staffing and scheduling realignment, a focus on K - 12 music curriculum including adding three music elective courses at the high school and leading the music department through obtaining several grants.
Dr. Pettit assumed the position of Superintendent of Quincy Public Schools on July 1st, 2022, and is proud to be the first Quincy Senior High School alum to serve as superintendent.
