"Allow me to describe my Loras College experience in three core values: academic excellence, school spirit, and affordability.

•Academic Excellence: The education is engaging and involves hands-on experience. I connected with professors and participated in several leadership opportunities, inside and outside of the classroom. All these learned skills are applicable in my professional life.
•School Spirit: The passionate community and the strong support system hearten me to stay. Loras provided me with my first job out of college and inspired me to keep growing within the higher education field.
•Affordability: Even as a private school, the financial aid packages are budget and customer friendly. I was honored to be awarded scholarships, especially the Iowa Tuition Grant, as it made it possible for me to attend college and even study abroad!

All these experiences and more, shaped who I am today. Regardless of where I go, my Duhawk nature shines out, and it is easy to recognize someone with a connection to the school. I am beyond grateful to all who helped with my dream to become a global ambassador, an opportunity. Nowadays, if someone asks, “What’s a Duhawk?” I proudly say, “I'm a Duhawk!” -Samantha Garcia Bracho
