DID YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD NOT POUR COLD WATER ON AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON THEIR BACK ‼️
HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO…
Animal lovers, never make the mistake of throwing cold water on an overheated dog or putting a wet towel on his back. You will see the opposite effect.
Due to the cold, the veins contract and due to the high temperature (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood clot, which makes the blood thick and viscous.
Due to the combination of the two, the heart can no longer get the blood and the organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.
The result is a very slow but very painful death.
If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, he will still die.

First give lukewarm water to drink, then cool the soles of the feet and chest/lower abdomen with a damp towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a damp towel!!

Sharing is highly desirable because again and again we see images of overheated dogs getting out of a car with water poured on their backs ❎

The NBHA would like to officially welcome the Rock Springs Field Trial Club into the fold! This team definitely knows how to put on a superb field trial! If you have never been to the RSFTC grounds, then you are in for a treat! Nestled in the tip of the Flint Hills, these historied grounds are something similar to what you would see on an outdoor show! Rolling hills, nice draws, and excellent habitat suited for holding upland game! With many vantage points on the grounds for spectators, you definitely have the ability to see great dog work throughout the various courses. These are just a few of the reason these ground are often selected to hold Championships on. If you have ever thought about taking a trip to Kansas, I would highly recommend this trial as it piggy backs the opener of the Pheasant and Quail season. With a little over 1 million acres of walk-in public land available through the Kansas, this would be the ideal trip for anyone wishing to double up on field trialing and hunting upland game in the surrounding areas. For entries and questions please reach out to Jim Corpening.
