This has given me a variety of experiences and perspectives in the birth world! It's not black & white, can or cannot. There are options and variables!

Your doc says "you can't eat in labor"....what does the research say?
Your doc says "you need to xyz (fill in the blank)" .....what does the research say?

While looking into research, what are other facilities offering? What do other providers suggest? Is it as cut and dry as your provider makes it seem? Ask the questions, you'll be empowered and have a clearer understanding of your care and your birth journey.

While I didn't end up with a birthday buddy on Feb 14th, I did help welcome twin girls the 13th just before midnight and a sweet first born just after midnight the 15th. So my birthday was spent with 2 amazing families and I couldn't be more honored!

Guess I'll wait another year for a birthday buddy! 😉
