As we begin to see more snow please remember this important driving tip: The automatic headlight control in vehicles detects brightness outside the vehicle with an Illuminance sensor which activates when light picked up by the sensor drops below a certain level. This does not activate because of snow or rain, so please use your headlights manually for safety while driving in these weather conditions.
Steer clear of Keith Street south in front of United Community Bank. Accident with injuries. One vehicle

As we gear up for Thanksgiving, let's remember to keep drains clear of fats, oils, and greases (FOG). Dumping these down the drain can cause clogs and lead to costly plumbing issues and be harmful to our wastewater system. Instead, dispose of FOG responsibly by collecting it in a container and throwing it in the trash once it solidifies. Let's keep drains flowing smoothly this holiday season!
Some traffic issues to worry about soon into the new year, 2024.
I've been noticing a lot of hacker/scammer type "people" commenting on our posts. Unfortunately it is hard for us to combat these types of "people" since Facebook won't do anything about the problem to try to prevent it from happening. We will do our best to remove these types of comments but if you do see one before we get to it, please don't click any links about eyewitness videos from fishy looking "people."

I know this isn't a missing dog page but I found this information to be very important if you find a stray dog and take it to be scanned for a chip or if your own dog has a chip in it. We that have furrbabies all love them immensely!

This is an X-ray of a dog’s bent front leg. See that tiny white spec? That’s a microchip! It has migrated down the leg....far from where it was inserted, between the dog’s shoulders. This is actually quite common.....
When lost pets are scanned, the entire body SHOULD be scanned to catch any that have migrated. But, as an owner, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AT THEIR YEARLY VET EXAM, to ask for a quick scan to make sure that: (1) the chip is still working, (2) the location of the chip is good, and (3) that the chip info is correct.
Remember microchips save lives and reunite families with their pet.... just have it checked regularly!

DID YOU KNOW fires spread far more quickly today than they used to? Forty years ago, you had about 17 minutes to escape a house fire, but today, that's down to three minutes or fewer. This is why it’s so important to keep interior doors shut to slow smoke and fire spread.
Remember: Close before you doze!
Laundry runnin’ HOT at the jail tonight! 🔥
Elevated Fire Risk today
UPDATE: Fire was at Charter/Spectrum on King Street.
ORIGINAL: Several fire companies are responding to a fire somewhere. Even though I was stopped by the fire department leaving out, I somehow did not hear where they were heading. I have heard that the hydrant at King and Buchanan is being used and there are a lot of fire trucks around Spectrum on King (possibly where the fire is?), so avoid that area so as to not be in their way. If you know where the fire is specifically, please leave in the comments. I will try to update the post.

If your light is green but there is a vehicle in the roadway you are about to turn on to with lights flashing and sirens blaring and big letters on the side that spell POLICE, don't enter the intersection. STOP and let the police vehicle proceed. This announcement SHOULD NOT have to be made! The inconsiderate behavior of some people AMAZES me! Something like 3 or 4 vehicles turned in front of him!
I stole this from another page. If true, you will know why those stations are so busy on that day and be cautious around any stations as this could cause traffic problems.
