There's lots of hidden things to find it's almost like a gigantic Easter egg hunt only with your money on the line. Give us a call if we can help. Inspecting all of Southwest Michigan

They saved us a massive headache and likely tens of thousands of dollars in financial damage, the inspector was able to point out that the home we were looking at had some pretty extreme structural damage caused by hydrostatic pressure pushing the basement walls inward, we found out that the seller had likely had some knowledge of the issue and tried to negotiate the price down but they wouldn't budge enough for us to be comfortable buying the home. I'm glad we took the time and spent the money to go with homespec they gave us as detailed of an inspection as they could and it helped us make a decision that probably saved us a ton of heartache in the future.

Yearly home maintenance is a series of tasks that are performed on a regular basis to keep a home in good condition and prevent problems from arising. Here is a list of some common yearly home maintenance tasks:
Clean gutters and downspouts: Cleaning out debris from the gutters and downspouts can prevent water damage and protect your home's exterior.
Inspect the roof: Look for missing or damaged shingles, cracks in the flashing, and other signs of wear and tear. Repair any problems as soon as they are discovered.
Check windows and doors: Make sure they are properly sealed and caulked, and replace any weatherstripping that has become worn or damaged.
Service heating and cooling systems: Have a professional HVAC technician inspect and clean your heating and cooling systems, including the furnace, air conditioner, and ducts.
Clean chimneys and fireplaces: Have a professional chimney sweep clean the chimney and fireplace, and check for any signs of damage or deterioration.
Inspect plumbing systems: Check for leaks, clogs, and other problems with your plumbing systems, and have them repaired as necessary.
Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors: Replace the batteries and test these important safety devices to ensure they are functioning properly.
Maintain the lawn and landscaping: Cut the grass, trim hedges and shrubs, and perform any other necessary maintenance to keep your lawn and landscaping looking its best.
By performing these tasks on a yearly basis, you can keep your home in good condition and prevent problems from becoming more serious and costly to repair.
Roof maintenance is an important aspect of home ownership, as it helps to keep your roof in good condition and extend its lifespan. Regular roof maintenance can also help prevent more serious and costly roofing problems from developing. In this blog, we will discuss some of the key things you should keep in mind when it comes to roof maintenance.
Inspect your roof regularly: You should inspect your roof at least twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. This will allow you to identify any potential problems early on and address them before they become more serious. During an inspection, look for missing or damaged shingles, cracks or holes in the roof, and any signs of water damage or leaks.
Clean your gutters and downspouts: Your gutters and downspouts play an important role in directing water away from your home and protecting your roof from water damage. Make sure to clean them regularly to prevent clogs and blockages. You can clean your gutters yourself or hire a professional to do it for you.
Trim nearby trees: Trees that are too close to your roof can damage your shingles and cause other problems. Trim any branches that are close to or touching your roof to prevent this.
Address any leaks immediately: If you discover a leak in your roof, address it as soon as possible. Ignoring a leak can result in more serious and costly damage to your home and your roof.
Consider hiring a professional: While some roof maintenance tasks can be done yourself, there are some that are best left to the professionals. If you're not comfortable climbing on your roof, for example, it's best to hire a professional to perform your roof inspections and repairs.
In conclusion, regular roof maintenance is an important aspect of home ownership that can help extend the lifespan of your roof and prevent more serious and costly roofing problems from developing. Keep these tips in mind and consider hiring a professional if you're not comfortable with the maintenance tasks yourself.

Just completed a pest inspection and water test for a client for insurance reasons. They had a house fire and are rebuilding. The fire was caused by k**b and tube wiring. Folks, if you still have k**b and tube wiring PLEASE get it updated. You are risking your life.

Oh and the interior slab rose and fell from room to room. I answered him. What do you think my answer was?

Second over 100yr old home in two days. No insulation in either. That's not really surprising. Be prepared if you choose to purchase on of these great ladies.
Thank you to all our service men and women.
Day off, waiting on the wife. Thoughts on when your inspector is not your inspector.
Folks, when your purchasing a home. Use your inspector, not someone else's report.
Was parked on a day off waiting for my wife. Take a listen.
Love it when I can earn a good review from a client. After 15 yrs inspecting I still try to always exceed your expectations.
