Yesterday, 31 direct caregivers from across our Greater Hartford Memory Care Centers earned their Certified Dementia Practitioner credentials. I am so grateful for iCare Health Network’s dedication to the professional growth of our CNAs, LPNs, and their support staff, as well as for honoring Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month through this event.

CNAs from MissionCare at Holyoke attended iCare's specialized Avoiding Crisis and Escalation (ACE) Training at the care center. The curriculum and program was designed to remove or limit the causes of a behavioral health crisis, ensure the safety of nursing center staff and safely care for residents if they do experience a behavioral health crisis or escalation.

George Kingston, Administrator at Parkville Care Center generously shared his wealth of experience and invaluable insights on managing opioid use disorder at the recent CT Nursing Homes event. A true leader in the field, George's 10+ years of knowledge provided valuable guidance to skilled nursing providers, OTPs, DPH, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to improving patient care.

Last week at Touchpoints at Chestnut, our dedicated team honed their skills on essential nursing practices! From proper handwashing and emergency code calling to specialized care like donning and doffing, trach care, splints, and ROHO cushions. We also focused on managing COPD and CHF. Proud of our staff's commitment to excellence in patient care!

On May 7, 2024 Trinity Hill Care Center’s Administrator Yong Crandall was honored with The Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award at the 57th Annual Convocation and Exposition of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award (EPFLA) was introduced in 2008 by one of ACHCA’s most revered leaders, the late Eli Pick. A former executive director of the Ballard Rehabilitation Center, DesPlaines, IL, for over 30 years, Eli embodied excellence as an Administrator who cared for his residents, their families, and his community.
