It was a more mellow one this weekend, and frankly I was perfectly happy to have it that way! Some time at the barn with SpokesGelding Vinny, a banquet to celebrate a successful volleyball season for my daughter, and working on travel for some of you lovely folks! Put together quotes for a group of friends to celebrate a 50th birthday at an all inclusive, a family celebrating a 70th birthday in Mexico, and a family that will be heading to Walt Disney World for a second visit! 🥳

By combining holidays with PTO, you can get more rest, relaxation, or travel. Here’s a month-by-month guide to make the most out of your time off in 2025. Please keep in mind that I don't know everyone's specific days that they are granted for PTO, but this is just based on the standard!

January
New Year's Day (Wednesday, Jan 1)
- PTO Suggestion: Take off Jan 2-3 (Thursday and Friday) for a 5-day break (Jan 1-5).

Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan 20)
- PTO Suggestion: Take Jan 17 (Friday) off to create a 4-day weekend (Jan 17-20).

February
Presidents' Day (Monday, Feb 17)
- PTO Suggestion: Take Feb 14 (Friday) off to create a 4-day weekend (Feb 14-17).


April
Easter Weekend (Sunday, April 20)
- PTO Suggestion: If your company gives you Good Friday (April 18) off, take off April 17 (Thursday) to create a 4-day weekend (April 17-20).

May
Memorial Day (Monday, May 26)
- PTO Suggestion: Take May 23 (Friday) off for a 4-day weekend (May 23-26).

By planning this way, you can maximize your time off, get longer stretches for travel or rest, and use only around 15-20 PTO days in 2025 for maximum effect. Remember to double-check with your company’s specific holiday schedule and any carryover PTO policies!

Monday morning means weekend recap!! 🤩

We started the weekend cheering on Addy’s volleyball team in the plays! The girls fought hard Friday and yesterday to bring home a reserve championship!

Saturday we celebrated Halloween with our barn Halloween party where the crayons made another appearance and this this time with an addition of a brown crayon named Vinny! 😂

Weekend recap and it’s a big one! As you hopefully saw, we spent the last 5 days at the Disneyland Resort! It was SO much fun showing the kids and our best friends around Disneyland! 😍

Thursday we went to Oogie Boogie Bash, this was a first for me and it did not disappoint! 👻

Friday and Saturday were filled with park time, a little pool time, and getting all the rides in we could handle. Fairly certain the favorite for everyone was Incredicoaster at Disney’s California Adventure Park. 🎢

Yesterday we mad our way home. And thanks to Southwest Airlines I got to meet good friend Alicia who I’ve known for 18 or so years but never met in person! As I was walking through the gate area in Chicago for our connecting flight, there was Alicia! It was SO great to see and hug her after so long! Travel really does prove what a small world it is! 🥰

She’s certainly beautiful! 😍

Yep. It was as good as I wanted it to be! 😂

Big Thunder Mountain here we go!

This kid has been asking for years to build a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop and today was finally the day! 🤩

Yesterday started with dessert for breakfast today it’s drinks at Oga’s Cantina for breakfast!
