When people are making a lot of withdrawals from your life, you have to make sure you’re putting in a lot of deposits. If you’re giving and giving and never filling back up, you’ll be depleted and weak. Don’t live with a hero mentality and let people make constant withdrawals from you without making deposits that refresh you. When you get spiritually run-down, emotionally drained, physically worn-out, it raises your blood pressure, causes you to live stressed, and you’ll be no fun to be around. If you’re not taking time to get away and rest, you’ll be living far below your potential. You won’t be as good a parent, spouse, leader, or friend.

Nobody can make this change except you. If you don’t learn to say no to some demands, you won’t have strength for the day of adversity. You have to say, “I’m making some adjustments to my schedule. My well-being is more important than keeping everyone happy.” You have to make it a priority to stay in balance. Take care of you.

Grief is one of the hard emotions to handle. It comes from nowhere and many times you struggle to get a grasp or hold of it. Special days like birthdays, date of death, holidays they loved are often coupled with tears. You can eventually smile but it takes time to get there. For me, I’ve loss so many (all of my brothers) and I struggle because the emotions are raw and when they hit, they hit. I say this to say, find the bright spots and moments in any day and rest in those. Rest in the fact that your loved one is not suffering anymore that they’re in a place where they truly are at peace. And when the waves come, ride them until they calm. They will calm. I promise you THAT. Enjoy this sunshine and 60 degree weather and get out of your own thoughts. Go to the park and take a long walk. I plan to on today.

Please please please!!!!!! DO NOT SWITCH TO A MEDICARE “ADVANTAGE” PLAN!!! Honey, they are a “disadvantage” at best!!! Tell your parents, grandparents, your elderly neighbor who walks around the whole neighborhood! Inform them!!!! Example: that neighbor…..falls during one of those 8 trips around the neighborhood, fractures her hip!!!!! She’ll be able to have it repaired, but the rehab options are abysmal!!!! Right along with nursing homes for rehabilitation. Slim pickings for in-network options, and fat chance finding anything close to home. She’ll be in a very difficult and stressful situation, and she won’t be able to do a thing about it!!!!!!! Choose wisely!!!!!
Keep that Medicare A and B, and grab a Part D Plan for your medications!
