Hi Waterford Blessings In a Backpack lovers! We are receiving our first delivery tomorrow morning and are in need of some helpers to unload the truck!

The truck will be at Knudsen Elementary School at 5449 Crescent Road usually around 9-9:15. Please arrive early so you can do a visitor sign in at the office.

It costs $110 to feed 1 child for an entire school year, so their donation will support 100 children in the Waterford community. We appreciate their support so much! 🤩

We had a big delivery today! 2 pallets for 6 weeks of food for Donelson Hills. We send home food for about 160 children per week here! Thank you to the gentleman movers from Changing Places Moving and our volunteers for all of your help!

Greek Jalapeno - Waterford, MI is not only open for carry out, but their parking lot is a stop for the Waterford School District Meet Up & Eat Up. For today's stop from 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM they are giving one dozen eggs 🥚, a loaf of wheat bread 🍞, and some fresh fruit 🍌🍎🍊 to the first 30 people who come for the bus delivery. I'm sure there will be lots of smiles from Karen and her crew too! 😁

**MORE LOCATIONS - BUS DROP-OFF STARTING THURSDAY**

Our WSD Food & Nutrition staff have been working diligently to feed our students during the shutdown and we are so very grateful to them! The program has been so successful, serving hundreds of meals a day, that we are adding more locations. In addition to five pick-up locations, we will be adding nine bus drop-off locations.

With the recent school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ideas have been discussed, discarded, and re-evaluated over the last several days. Ultimately it has been decided that Waterford Blessings In a Backpack will be suspended until further notice. Please rest assured students have daily access to meal pickup during this time with the Waterford School District through their Meet Up and Eat Up program, and there will be extra food provided Friday for weekends. If you have any questions, please message us on this page or email Barb Laing or Nikki Tippett if you have their information. Please stay safe and healthy.

Waterford School District is offering meal services Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at 3 locations during the school closure for those in need.

**UPDATED LOCATIONS**
We have added two new locations that will start on Tuesday: St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Lifepoint Christian.

While instructional services are temporarily on hold, we have established a plan to provide free breakfast and lunch to our students. Starting on Monday, March 16th, we will have three locations where we will offer a drive-up meal service. Students ages 18 and under will receive both breakfast and lunch when they stop by. Meals will be provided at Riverside Elementary, Mason Middle School, and the Crary Campus, every Monday through Friday between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Parents should look for the balloons and the Meet Up and Eat Up signs to direct them to where the meals will be served. Students do not need to accompany the parent to receive a meal. Please monitor the Waterford School District website for more information, as this is an ever-changing situation.

Waterford Schools is closed again for Thursday, February 27th, so no packing today. Friday contingency plans have been emailed.
