This beautiful, buttery yellow kitchen, belongs to an historic barn. It was part of a full restoration & is home to a war veteran & his loving wife. Bonus, my client & his young family live on the same property. He graciously gifted the home to his aging parents as a small thank you & as a token of his love & appreciation ❤️

Happy Easter!

Part of this whole home reno was turning the primary suite into a spa like retreat. This proved to be a bit challenging because of the awkward division of space. But…we love a good challenge & were excited to see what we could imagine.
Space planning is one of our superpowers & once we peeled away all the layers of wallpaper & walls, we were able to create a large, luxurious suite.
In its original state, the bathroom had a small double vanity, tiny, dark corner shower, & a water closet that stole all the natural light. Now, the bathroom hosts a large double vanity full of storage & appropriate lighting, each person has their own linen cabinet, 10’ long his & hers steam shower w aromatherapy, 6’ long soaking tub, & a water closet tucked away.
Our client couldn’t believe the transformation, and how we were able to “find” so much extra space. Quite simply, we exceeded their expectations, and that’s the most fun part of our job. 💕

Secondary living space within a home has become a priority for many families. Whether it’s an apartment for young adults, aging parents, or true guest quarters, these spaces need to function, and obviously look good 😉
We cleaned up this once very cluttered, sad looking space and transformed it into a beautiful guest and hang out area. We went bold with black and white in the kitchen, and played with retro appliances, light fixtures, and tile. The result is a warm, and inviting space for guests to hang their hat.
You know what happened? My client’s teenage kids loved the space so much they have adopted it as their favorite hang out. With a basketball court and pool in the backyard, can you blame them? 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s easy for a client to get excited at the beginning of a project, when everything is safely outlined on paper but the work hasn’t begun. It’s quite another thing, an accomplishment really, when a client is still excited at the end of the project. The magic moment when those pretty, conceptual drawings, come to life 🪄
The reality of a project is less than magical. As much as we plan, something inevitably happens. Hiccups, headaches, and (gasp) delays! Through it all, we stand by our client, unwavering.
Here, we took a dated guest bathroom and transformed it into a space worthy of the historical home. This was not the first project we did with this particular client, rather the 3rd, and we enjoyed playing w peacock feather tile dancing along a marble background. A curbless shower replaced an awkward jet tub and we still found space for an appropriately sized soaking tub.
A rave review from a client is the culmination of months, sometimes years of planning, and is the highest compliment. , thank you for enlisting our services, the pleasure was ours. And thank you for the many referrals 🙏🏻

Recently, many of our calls have been from previous clients who are ready to embark on their next project. Those calls always bring us joy and excitement. Who doesn’t love a good reunion?
Just today, I spent the afternoon with a client from several years ago. We all sat together in front of their warm fireplace, sharing stories about our kids and dogs, and somewhere between the biscotti and a hot cup of tea we designed their new kitchen.
This “job” is so much more than the work. It is about the people, and the relationships we have cultivated throughout the years. Today’s meeting? It sure didn’t feel like work, rather I was connecting w old friends.
The past several years have felt like complete chaos, and our goal was and still is, to take good care of our clients. Mistakes happen, things get delayed, that’s the nature of the business. No matter the circumstances, we will continue showing up because we care about you!
To all of our clients, thank you for your generous support! We love dreaming and designing spaces for you and your families, like this mudroom❤️

There is something special about completing a project during the holidays. The new spaces sparkle a little more & everyone involved breathes a sigh of relief to be done before Christmas 🎄
This is now the 2nd large project we have done for this client, and just 2 years ago today we were moving them back into their new primary suite. It speaks volumes that our client trusted our team not once, but twice, & we have loved watching their family grow.
It’s all about relationships, the ones we have with our clients, contractors, vendors, & with ourselves. No task is too small, no request too large. We work together to get the job done.

Bright & airy are words not typically associated when describing a basement. When our client requested a light filled basement, we knew we had our work cut out for us.
Making our clients dreams come true is part of our mission. Our clients receive a velvet rope experience, with access to the areas most talented contractors & vendors = anything is possible 🙌🏻
We added sliding glass doors , custom cabinetry to create a secondary kitchen,& kept our finishes neutral 🌿. A large gym occupies what used to be a dark, storage corner, & we incorporated a guest bedroom & full bath. This family couldn’t believe the transformation, & love hosting movie 🎥 & game nights 🎲for family & friends.

This primary suite boasts an envy worthy closet & bathroom w a large soaking tub, his & hers vanities, complete with makeup area, concealed water closet & oversized shower.
The vaulted ceiling was a bit of an engineering marvel,

Building a home is stressful.
Building a home from 3,000 miles away, during COVID is next level. Our client is native to the area and after living on the west coast for 10 years, decided it was time to come back to their roots and raise their 3 school aged children amongst family and friends.
The couple knew this was a tall order, and hired us to be their eyes and ears, their personal design concierge. They trusted us fully, even when we suggested black cabinets in the bar and dark wallpaper in the dining room.
When they finally moved in, we received the highest compliment: “The house feels like our family.”

We design for the whole family, furry friends included 🐾
Our friend, Bandit, found the perfect spot to curl up, which has great views down the hallway + into the kitchen.
This room works hard, accommodating lockers for each family member, laundry, & a handy beverage refrigerator for hanging out on the front porch.
The limestone floors laid in a herringbone pattern are soft yet sturdy, & the custom cabinets are fitted out w electrical for charging devices. An increasingly necessity, the mudroom is no longer just for the dogs 🐶
Where is your pet’s special spot?

The primary bathroom: where so many of life’s special moments happen. From bathing your kids in the tub, getting ready for that BIG meeting, teaching your son how to put on a tie 👔& where you show your daughter she’s perfect just the way she is ❤️
Our day begins and ends here, & is sometimes the place we go for ☮️ & quiet (guilty!)
When you think about it, your bathroom should be an oasis for you, your family, & no one else. So tell me, if you could have 1️⃣ thing in your bathroom, what would it be? 🤔

Testimonial Tuesday!
Dated doesn’t even begin to describe the state of Claudia & Ross’s kitchen when we first met. (Hint: Swipe to see before photos)The backsplash was pealing off the walls, none of the appliances worked, & the space accommodated approximately 1 person comfortably. Not great for a young family of 4 😱
We listened carefully, took our time, & together created a space truly unique to their personal aesthetic. And for people who cook, bake, & LOVE to entertain, they now have a space large enough to do it all at once 🧑🏻‍🍳
Claudia, & Ross, thank you for your kind words. The pleasure was
ours ❤️

Back to school 🏫 season reminds
me of when my kids were younger & all of those precious moments.
Over 2 years ago, we had the pleasure of working with Katie & Tim, & at the time their only child Aiden. They were moving from the city to the burbs of Berwyn where they were building a new home. Little did we know their family would soon be expanding from 3 to 5! 👶🏻👶🏻
Looking back, it’s hard to believe Katie was 9 months pregnant while we were traipsing through the stone yard, selecting the perfect blend & texture of their soon to be exterior. Would we wrap the corners w stone? What color grout? We did it all & we learned a lot that day!
Katie & Tim never missed a beat, even after the twins were born. They were cool, calm, collected & more organized than most. Even amidst all the chaos of babies, a toddler, moving, work, & building a home Katie & Tim never unraveled. They are just about the nicest, most grateful, kind, & down to earth family you will ever meet.
When designing their home, we had a lot of thoughtful discussions about function, flow, durability & reliability of products, & where it makes sense to spend more 💵 & where to cut costs.
These photos show the home picture perfect, but also real life. A home built for the mess, mayhem, joy, & love ❤️
To say that I’m sad their project is complete is an understatement, but we have become friends & I look forward to watching their beautiful family grow.

If this project could be characterized in 1 word, it would be JOY! After experiencing years of caretaking & devastating losses, our client had one request: to make her home her happy place 🏡
From the first time I met Lizanne, I knew this would be a fun project. We talked for hours, had so many things in common, & we knew we had to work together.
As a grown family of 5, Lizanne & her family built & lived in their home for 20 years. She knew every quirk about the home, it’s pain points, & that she desperately needed functional spaces. Lizanne & her husband trusted our team w a layout that stretched their imaginations & are so happy they let us work our magic (hello gorgeous round window! 🤩)
Color was her request, along with high end, durable appliances, cabinetry, furniture, & finishes. We shopped at our favorite vendors, had the most fun selecting fabrics & tile, & the end result is a home that is as sunny & inviting as our lovely client.

Dog days of summer! 🐾
Full disclosure, we ❤️ this dog, Cooper. We love his owners too, but Cooper holds a special place in my heart. Why? Copper is the adorable Bernese Mountain Dog who lives across the street & who my family considers our 3rd dog. My dogs & kids regularly go play with him.
When Ben & Sarah asked us to do their kitchen, we knew considerations needed taken for this large, 130lb fluff ball. We modified the exterior of the home to include a dog friendly Dutch door, and Cooper has his own dedicated cabinet for food, treats, leashes, feeding bowls, etc.
Come to think of it, Ben & Sarah have their own hidden coffee station complete w beverage center and trash. Seems like everyone got what they wanted! 🤔 😉
