with It’s time for another “get to know me” post but I thought I would put a little twist on it and tell you some interesting career related tidbits!

My longest client relationship is 28 years. She and I are literally each other’s longest relationships.
•
My first year in the industry, I cut my knuckle so deeply that I had to get stitches. 😅 I won’t say I’ve never cut myself again, but never that severely. I left the client with half cut hair wile I hauled ass to the ER.

I used to teach for Redken. It was probably one of the most fun times in my career. Getting to travel to NYC to train and work and then go in to salons and work with other salon professionals was really fulfilling.
•
When I tell you, that I’ve heard it all, I mean it. I’ve had people confess really dark things to me like affairs and struggles with drugs or alcohol, spousal abuse and more. While these topics can be heavy, my salon is a safe space. I make no judgements.

I once thought I could possibly be having a heart attack and I stayed at work to finish my clients. ☠️ I went straight to the ER after work. My husband and the ER Dr gave me a well deserved verbal beat down for it. Obviously I was fine but FYI, dehydration can cause heart palpitations. I made some changes to the way I work after that foolishness.

I had a client ask me to do her hair when she passed away. I had to decline because it’s just not in me to do that but I was so honored that she asked.
•
I learned early in my career, don’t date your clients..I’ll just leave that there. 😂
•
One of the stickiest situations I had to deal with was two clients that were sisters-in-law. The one client went through a nasty divorce from the other client’s brother so, for years I had to make sure they never ran in to each other in the salon. It would have been real bad if they crossed paths. I had a similar situation with a husband and wife who divorced. Messy!

I could go on and on! A long career in this industry gives you a ton of stories.

If you have your eye on the perfect set of earrings, pick a hair piece that compliments them. If you’ve chosen the perfect hair piece, choose your earrings based on that!

—Add your accessories at the very end so your photographer can use them in the “details” photos!
