How many of you seeing this post have yet to visit Savannah? Maybe this is your sign to make it happen this year. This is your invitation. 😉 I’d be happy to share a link to our favorites in town too so feel free to comment below with the word INSIDER.
We had two back to back groups come in this week to experience our newest - to make a moisturizer bar. Guests chose from a lotion bar, massage bar, facial cleansing bar, and a balm for hair and beard care. We learned. We had fun. And we’ve already gotten great feedback on the prodigy benefits!
Come join us for a class and make something perfect for your skin and hair needs.
PS Dad might enjoy making a beard balm, something for tough hands and spending time being creative with YOU. We offer gift cards for workshops 💝 😉
Inspired by the beautiful streets and buildings in our historic city of Savannah, we have partnered with a jewelry maker to fuse glass and genuine Savannah Grey Brick into these one of a kind pieces of jewelry. With each purchase of these earrings and necklaces, finished with 14 karat gold, a portion of the proceeds goes towards clean oceans thanks to Surfrider Foundation #
Shout out to a shop down the road from Savannah that carry our products. Any fans in Swainsboro? Check out our goods at All the Fixin's • Swainsboro

Hello 👋 Summer! We are excited to roll out two new flavors of Kiss My Grits! In the south, a lot of people love an Arnold Palmer so we added this 50/50 combo to the mix… Sweet Tea and Lemonade. And you can’t go wrong with the taste of juicy watermelon juice on your lips 🍉
PS thank you to our VIPs and friends who contributed to our new flavors. We asked people to vote in for their feedback. Stay tuned for more flavor intros later this year!
Hello? Columbus? Columbus, Ohio? Are you there?
Ring ring! We are heading to Columbus this weekend.
Columbus peeps, I hope you answer the call and head out to the Surprisingly Savannah tour rolling in to your town. We will be at the Columbus Arts festival June 8-9.
PS why are we calling you from an ear of corn? Our ever popular Kiss My Grits skincare collection is made from stone ground Georgia Grown corn, called grits. One of our favorite things we get asked is “what’s a grit?” 😂 we can’t help but laugh at this question. But we know that many from the north or other countries are not familiar with this food.
Smells a little like Good & Evil over here 😈 🪴 💕
Let’s take a deep dive into our bubble bath formula. 💦 In the bowl, you will see a mixture of gum and radish seed extract. This combination adds thickness to our bubble bath and a nourishing skin feel. In a large vessel, there’s a combination of glycerin (which attracts moisture to the skin) and two parts of the coconut palm. The coconut is a natural foaming and cleansing agent. Super gentle on the skin. And inside the clear glass pitcher, we have a combo of aloe vera powder and conditioning panthenol B5. Aloe vera is moisturizing with vitamins A and C to soothe the skin plus contains minerals and enzymes. 🛀
Any Salacia fans near Athens, Georgia? We just love the offerings and values of - and they are generous to share the love of the brands they offer in their shop and online. 💞
We are so enamored by their post this morning. We see you. We feel you! All the love…
“Give your skin a little extra TLC in preparation for the summer months with this line of natural face and body products by Savannah based Salacia Salts.
Salacia Salts’ mission is to provide useful, practical products and experiences to help consumers relax and enjoy life wherever they are. Passionate about environmental responsibility (reducing the use of plastics and encouraging re-use of packaging), the company strives to showcase unique ways to use everyday, Georgia grown ingredients, such as grits and clay, and provide customers with products they love – handmade by real, local Savannah people.
Now available in our online shop.”
We just conducted a survey on new flavors for Kiss My Grits and sunshine tea came in with the most votes. So you heard it here first. A new flavor! Now we are seeking some insights! Who’s familiar with the term “sunshine tea”? We can’t use the trademarked name Arnold Palmer to describe a flavor, blend of lemonade and tea.
Right now we’re leaning towards “Sweet Tea and Lemonade” or maybe like this mockup, we use two descriptions?
And, for what it’s worth, the word TEA just looks really weird!
😆 Here for your feedback! Thanks in advance.
We're adding NEW FLAVORS to our Kiss My Grits collection. Speak now or forever hold your peace. If you decide to speak, this survey is only 3 quick questions. You're feedback would make us feel some kind of way. 🥰 THANK YOU! 👊
Help us pick our next Kiss My Grits flavors! We'll launch new Kiss My Grits Lip Balms and then make them into Lip Scrubs! We need your vote to narrow down these flavorful offerings.
Monday morning rituals. Do you switch up your skincare routine on the weekend from the rest of the week? We favor a little flavor and lip treatment to kick off the work week. I guess that’s something to look forward to on Monday mornings!
Everyone has a favorite! Meet Tinley, one of our amazing sales associates. She is studying beauty and fragrance at . “My favorite product at Salacia is our Lotion Bar. I am OBSESSED with the scent, not only does it have a sweet scent but it stays on my skin for a long time. I also love how moisturizing it is especially during these the winter months!”
Love this busy little section in one of our windows at our gift shop. You wouldn’t believe how many people walk by and yell out “Kiss My Grits!” - and all the kids that follow up with “mom, what’s that mean?” Retail definitely is interesting and entertaining!
And the winner is… 🐎 MINT JULEP Kiss My Grits
This week’s spring cleaning area of focus is our Workshop Space at our studio. We’ve been getting requests for larger groups and I wanted to introduce a bar height counter for our new lotion bar sessions. Our previous space allowed guests to stand up and move freely during the workshops. At our new space, everything was seated. I’m hoping to have options for both with this new layout.
While this is not perfect, it’s progress. I would really love to have beautiful upholstered stools and beautiful stainless high tops throughout the space. But I’m working with what we have and trying not to buy new things for the sake of vanity and design. I struggle between the two. I’m a designer at heart but a functional realist with my core values. I always think there’s room for improvement, but if the solution is functional, I try to be practical. The struggle is real! Anyone else out there feel like this?
What I really want is a mural or some amazing art that I can print and install as a wallpaper for the backdrop of the space! I’ve only been thinking about it for 2+ years! Maybe this is the year to commit!

The right scents can evoke pleasant feelings and promote overall improvement in psychological health. One of the most challenging - yet fun - processes for us as a skincare company is creating fragrance blends that bring the right emotional connection to our buyers. Our scents should evoke a feeling of natural relaxation. Whether it’s time by the sea, or memories of strolling through a beautiful southern garden, Salacia has 7 fragrance options in our collection.
Do you have a go-to scent that brings you joy?
Our Story
Salacia Salts is passionate about making an impact through educating people about the importance of relaxation and the environment, through caring for your skin while taking care of natural resources. It is our goal to create a regionally recognized best-in-class retail brand that captures the essence of the coast and lifestyle of relaxation by creating “smart” lifestyle products for bath and home.
We are creators of beauty and wellness products (moisturizers, cleaners, salt soaks and scrubs, and aromatherapy products) that help people relax and enjoy life by providing useful and practical products and experiences. In addition, we donate $2 from every bar soap we sell from our “helping hands” collection to build bathrooms in Southern India for teenage girls. We have raised enough funds to build one bathroom in Andhra Pradesh. This bathroom provides hand washing, education, and private, clean facilities to ensure teenage girls do not miss school due to their monthly cycle and unsanitary, uncomfortable restrooms.
Salacia Salts is unique, fun, and captivates the audience through combining interesting ingredients and facts. We leverage the story of farm-grown ingredients, locally sourced natural products and coastal Georgia history into each of our products. Our signature product is packaged in a bottle that is upcycled, allowing it to bypass the waste stream or prolong its life before being recycled.
We also offer a blending bar that allows people to make their own skincare. This is an interactive experience which entertains and educates people. The activity takes approximately 15 minutes, and we also offer full workshops on site in Savannah, GA (75-90 minute classes). Products may be packaged in small, travel sized containers under 3oz, liquid or dry.
Our biggest fans are eco-conscious females who appreciate a “work hard / play hard” mentality, embrace relaxation, and are small business supporters – especially those who appreciate female entrepreneurs (our business is owned and operated by 4 females). Our founder Cari Clark Phelps is a successful entrepreneur, having launched 5 businesses since 2004. Salacia Salts is 1 of the 4 active entities still owned and operated by Cari.
