Our favorite weekend lunch spot, Meraki 💛

I turn their Chipotle Chicken Burrito into a bowl by asking them to put all the ingredients over greens and it’s👌🏼& Shea tried the Korean Chicken Sandwich! 😋

Meraki is officially Shea’s favorite place in the 🤣 no, like he’s obsessed. They’re a must try if you’re in the area!

I’ve been MIA from this account because I’ve been busy enjoying summertime with the fam! Annnnnnnnd then we all got COVID🤒

But, I’m back and just in time to remind you all that TOMORROW is the last Social of the season at South Farms (😩😭)

If you haven’t been to a social yet stop by tomorrow between 5-8pm & dress warm! I’ll be the mom running after a crazy toddler while enjoying a Litchfield Distillery beverage ☺️

These crispy cauliflower bites from Market Place] are my new favorite appetizer on their menu!

They’re toasted in General Tso’s sauce, sprinkled with sesame seeds and drizzled with lime juice😋 so so good (& kind of healthy?! At least that’s what I’m telling myself🤣)

I’ll be back again soon Market Place] 💙

Taco Tuesday spent at with a delicious passion fruit margarita 🍹

We started lunch by ordering chips, guac & pepper jack queso because duh who goes to a Mexican restaurant and doesn't order the fresh guac?! Followed by the buffalo chicken empanadas which are so so so good! (But I love anything buffalo with blue cheese 😋) And ended by building my own taco -- shredded chicken, cheddar jack cheese, lettuce and guac!

Every Tuesday does $5 tacos and $10 margs all day long (dine in only) so it's the perfect day to try the different tacos on their menu.

Highly recommend if you're in the Litchfield area 🙌🏻

Shea and I explored the city last month before I headed to for my double mastectomy surgery. I had been following on IG because their feed is 🌮🔥 and knew we had to try it for lunch. This place did NOT disappoint!

Swipe to see what we ordered😋 I'll be back for the margarita I didn't get to try!

If you're looking for a place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo next Thursday The Taco Shack will be at Evening Sky Brewing Co. in Burlington.

Their shredded chicken taco is my favorite! Plus, I'm a sucker for their branded charred logo on their soft tacos. Highly recommend ordering a few.

Is there anything better than Lemon Thyme Salad?

These Greek fries from are my new love language. I'm obsessed.

Located in Torrington, CT Yia Yia's Green Kitchen is known for being the most authentic Greek food in CT. It was hard to pick just one or two items to try off their menu so we ordered literally everything that sounded good to our stomachs.

Starting with the dip platter we picked three of their dips: the Kalamata Spread, Tirokafteri, and Tzatziki. Next we tried the Yia Yia's Chips (10/10 highly recommend ordering these). And ended with our entrees featuring this Chicken Gyro with a side of Greek fries an a order of Chicken Kalamaki!

YUM!!!!

Q: WHY DO RESTAURANTS NEED SOCIAL MEDIA?

A: It’s a way for a restaurant to stand out from their competitors, alert their customers of new menu items, and grow a stronger connection to their consumers therefore bringing in more diners.

I did a poll recently on my stories asking my followers where they look first when hearing about a restaurant they've never eaten at before. The overwhelming response was social media, specifically Instagram.

Consumers want to see photos of the restaurant's food, drinks and atmosphere before they even step in the door.

Now ask yourself this -- would your Instagram content make a new customer try your business?

Happy Friday everybody! 🎉

I think I've found my new favorite weekend coffee spot, and it's The Smithy Cafe in New Preston, CT.

Recently Shea and I have had to drive around on the weekends to get P (if you don't know me in real life "P" is my 2 year old son, Pierce) take a good nap we stumbled upon this little cafe. Everything on their breakfast menu sounds so good and we've slowly been trying each item one by one.

Not only is the food delicious but they also have a market right across the street that is so cute, too! The perfect place to pick up a little gift for someone.

I highly recommend adding this spot to your need-to-try list!

Are you interested in my content creation service but want to know more about the process? Keep reading..

First things first you reach out to me -- slide into my DM’s or inquire through my website and we’ll set up a time to chat over the phone.

I’ll ask you a bunch of questions to figure out how involved the shoot is, exactly what you’re looking for, and what your plans are for the content we create together.

Sample questions would include: How many dishes would you like me to photograph? This determines how many photos I’ll take and how long the shoot will last.
What types of shots are you looking for? Food photos (duh), your space, BTS, editorial, etc. Where are you planning to use the photos once I pass them off to you? On social media, your new menu, on your website, etc.

I create a proposal that will cover everything we discussed in our conversation about the shoot and will include my pricing.

Once you agree to the proposal I send you a proper contract that outlines the scope of services, duration of the shoot/partnership, and payment.

I come into your restaurant on the agreed upon date and time, do my thing, head home to edit the content I've gathered during the shoot, and then send the photos to you.

If this is something you’re interested in, send me a DM!

You might have noticed Very Social got a rebrand & that's because I've found the niche in this crazy big online world that my business and passions perfectly aligns with.

It took some time (*two years, yikes*) but I figured it out!

I've switched up my services, edited my packages, and narrowed down who I'll be working with moving forward -- and hopefully it's your business!

HIIIII!
It's been a hot minute since I've posted on here.

The last couple of months have been full of change, but I'm finally at a place where I can talk about it and I'm ready to clue you all in on what Very Social is doing these days.

Right after I rebranded Very Social last year I had experienced a miscarriage on my 3rd wedding anniversary. It was horrible and something I truly wish no other woman would ever have to experience. The pain you feel after a loss is indescribable but I'm thankful for it because the loss led me to finally taking the steps I needed to reach out to my doctor about two lumps I had found on my breast.

November 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. Ductal means it started in my milk duct, invasive means the cancer had invaded my breast tissue and stage 1 means we caught it early (although it didn't feel that way). It is extremely scary to hear the word cancer but my type is the most common & is very treatable.

Last week I finished my 12 week chemotherapy treatment! I'm incredibly grateful to have felt overall really good during my treatment and been able to work and live a normal life! Working with my clients has given me a reason to get up, get out and show up everyday. The finish line for my fight is in sight and its keeping me motivated.

My diagnoses really affected what I could and couldn't eat the last 3 months. It's been a rollercoaster but it forced me to try new foods and led me to trying new restaurants that I'm excited to share here on my page.

Phew, now that I've gotten that off my chest let's get back to happy & fun things!
