The profits of both Scholastic book fairs go directly to purchase books for the Michael T. Simmons library. Even if a student buys a pen or an eraser, it helps buy books for the library. It is one of the best ways to support our school!

Our Book Fair offers e-Wallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account on the MTS Book Fair Page (you can find it in the linktree in our Instagram bio) to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a future eWallet. We will also have a list of eWallets available.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱?
$25 - $30 is ideal. If your child is only going to purchase paperback books, $15 - $20 will
suffice. However, if you send your child with $10, they will be able to purchase one book
and maybe a second one.

🍂 Please join the Michael T. Simmons PTO for a night of free family fun at our Fall Festival! 🍂

Friday October 20th, from 6:00 to 7:30 at MTS! ✨

There will be games, prizes, dancing, popcorn, a costume contest, everyone’s favorite - a cake walk hosted by Mr. Grunenfelder, and so much more! 🎃

We encourage all students and families to come in costume,
but don’t forget, costumes must be school safe and appropriate! 🎃

This afternoon from 3:30-4:30 pm we will hold our first PTO meeting of the year in the school library.

We are looking for people to fill a number of vacant positions, and hope to see you there!

MTS will be hosting all 2023 Black Hills High School graduates this Friday afternoon. Please meet at the flag pole at 1pm. We hope to see you there in your cap and gown!

Taco bout a party! We had a fun week saying ‘Muchas Gracias!’ to all the fantastic teachers and staff at MTS. There was breakfast and lunch, an Italian soda bar, afternoon snack bags, and some new MTS spiritwear for all. A big thank you also to our wonderful principal, Mr Hedin for all of his help. The PTO thanks everyone who makes MTS a great place to be!

Come and join us for a fun afternoon of fun and friendship at MTS! Athletes from Black Hills High School will be joining us, and if you’re lucky you might even get to see Rufio 🐺 We hope to see you there Wolf Pups!

Our Fun Run is tomorrow!

To prepare for tomorrow, students should
* Eat a healthy dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow
* Bring a water bottle to school
* Wear sneakers, athletic clothing, and a jacket. We will be running in light rain!
* Be prepared to have fun :)

Donations will be accepted throughout the weekend and will qualify for prizes.

The first week of our fundraiser is coming to an end and our students have a couple of weekend challenges that we want to let you know about.

* The top class in K-2 and 3-5 grades to raise the most money from now through Monday morning will earn a coffee gift card for their teacher and receive an OTTER POP PARTY!
* Any student who raises $25 or more throughout the weekend will earn themselves an extra prize.
* There is a workout challenge for your student to complete this weekend available on their Fun Run website. Take a look!

We have almost reached our music at recess goal! Thanks for all of your fundraiser participation. Keep it up!

Our Fun Run Fundraiser began today, and we are already off to a great start! This is our only PTO Fundraiser for the year, and our goal is to raise $40,000 so that we can continue to provide teacher classroom grants, specialist funding, and family enrichment activities to name just a few.
