This last weekend at Rassawek’s Autumn Festival was spectacular! If you didn’t have a chance to come out to Goochland and get your potato fix, that’s ok because we will have Southern Spud out again this weekend! On Sunday 10/29 we will be set up at First UU Church by Byrd Park. They are having their annual Gallery event and it is going to be a beautiful day to come out! We will be serving from noon-5pm or until we sell out! 🥔😍 🖼️

Hey friends! This Saturday and Sunday we will be serving at Rassawek’s Autumn Festival out in Goochland. We are super excited to be a part of this event and to check out the Pro Rodeo and Helicopter rides. It’s going to be awesome so get your tickets and come see us! 🥔😍

Today The Alamo Baked Potato—topped with salt and vegan butter, loaded with shredded cheese, homemade black bean chili, southwest crema, diced tomatoes, jalapeños & green onions. Come out and try one today! Vegan today and always gluten free 🥔

Tomorrow is Richmond’s VegFest and we are super excited to be serving for our fourth year! This is our menu for tomorrow - all vegan and always gluten free. 🤩🤩🥔🥔 It’s at Byrd Park and we will be serving from noon-6pm. See you there!

Did you hear that Richmond VegFest is happening Saturday, October 7th!? There will be over 100 vendors at Byrd Park from 12-6pm and Southern Spud food truck will be there serving an entirely vegan (and of course Gluten Free) menu. There’s also going to be a stage with speakers, live bands, and more! It’s free to attend so bring the whole family!

We will be set up this Saturday at New Kent Winery serving from 6-9pm. After that, the food truck takes a little rest and it’s full on cafe work until Fall Festival season begins.

Opening day announcement!! We plan to have a soft opening Saturday, July 1st 🥳🥳🎉🎉

We plan to open that day for a reservations only special celebration brunch tea service at 10am, and then afternoon tea at 1pm. We can seat up to 36 people for each service.

*Please include your name, date and time of requested tea service, number of adults and children in your group, and any allergies.*

Brunch tea is $30 (plus tax and gratuity) and will include bottomless featured tea, scone with cream & jam, individual quiche, and a beautiful tier with assorted tea sandwiches, fresh fruit & cheese and sweet treats.

Afternoon tea is $30 (plus tax and gratuity) and will include bottomless featured tea, scone with cream & jam, soup, and a beautiful tier with assorted tea sandwiches, fresh fruit & cheese, and assorted desserts.

Kids are welcome to attend and will be half price for ages 10 and under.

After July 1st - our general hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-3:30pm. We will be taking reservations for afternoon tea every day from 11am-3pm. I will post our menu as we get a little closer to opening.

We are working on our website and will hopefully be able to move to taking reservations through that site shortly.

It’s been 3 days of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and planning in our cafe space, and I need to have a moment! 🤣 I love how taking time for tea can help collect my thoughts and ease any concerns. 💕🫖

I’m drinking a beautifully created Matcha Genmaicha artisan green tea from Adagio. It has robust notes of toasty rice with the delicacy of mellow grassy matcha. It’s just the calm I need to keep me going for the afternoon. And *hint* you may just see a little peek at our future wall color. 🦚

Good morning!! Here’s our big news we’ve been eagerly waiting to share, and wanted to share here first. Our customers are simply the best and have been such a blessing to us for the last 4 1/2 years. So you deserve to know first!!🤩

Today we signed a lease for a brick and mortar cafe. 🎉🎉 It won’t exactly be the Southern Spud concept, but will combine our southern hospitality and southern inspiration for a small brunch & lunch cafe and tea room. 🫖Southern Serenity Cafe plans to open in Chesterfield County in June 2023!! 🌸

**We will still be running Southern Spud food truck and will be focusing on festivals and catering while we are getting the cafe ready.*** PLUS we will have a regular spot out front where we will be setting up the food truck once a week for lunches while the cafe is being prepped for opening. More coming on that very soon!🥳

Hello friends!! Our final service of 2022 is coming up! Monday, December 19th we are teaming up with several other local businesses to serve at The Holiday Cocktail Party at Pinky’s restaurant. This is a giveback event with a portion of profits that will be going to benefit FeedMore. We will be serving from 5-9pm at 3015 Norfolk St. It’s open to the public. It’s going to be a great evening for a delicious comforting Southern Spud meal, and supports a good cause. Make plans now to come see us! 💕🥔
