Storage Space Tips:

1. Make sure everything is categorized

2. Leave extra room to grow 🌱Storage spaces are for anything extra that’s not used every day. So when you buy something new that’s backstock or needs to be stored, make sure you leave room for it!

3. Label it! This is especially important to remind yourself where everything goes (especially since you probably aren’t looking at it daily). This will make sure your space is easily maintained.

4. Utilize all shelving and make sure nothing is on the floor. Things attract more things, so anything left on the floor tends to grow over time.

Let’s talk about decanting in your kitchen/pantry

What to decant? What not to decant?

The answer is…. Whatever works for you and your habits!

Decanting items provides a sealed container to keep food fresh, so it’s best to think about what you use a little of at a time versus what you use entire packages of in one sitting.

Snacks are great to decant if you like to pick at them. You can take the container to the couch with you, eat what you want, and close it up when you’re done.

Baking items are great to decant, too! Throw a scooper in there and then you don’t have to deal with using clips where air can get in the package. Great examples of baking items to decant are flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, etc.

If you have a big family and you use an entire package if pasta everytime you make pasta, that’s not a great item for you to decant (unless, of course, you’re doing it just for the aesthetics).
