Don't let your automation get ahead or away from you!
It's become easier and easier to automate everything and we definitely LOVE it but just for giggles, this week we encountered the following failing automation that was sneaky enough to go unnoticed by clients.
We get it - life gets busy!
On the list of misbehaving tech is Light timers, Auto Top Offs, Dosers, Auto Shut Off Floats, and Automatic Feeders.
This is pretty much par for the course so when you are spending time with your tank don't forget to check in on your automated helpers to make sure they are still working they way they can to help!

If there is one brand I regret supporting more than any other in the past 4 years in the its EcoTech Marine.
I can not underestimate the challenges I have experienced with this equipment with consistency and at this point I'm rolling back my last standout and simply saying if you are seeking my professional experience in installing Ecotech equipment, the answer is "No".
If you are looking for convenient opportunities to avoid holidays - this might work for you.

It's not always all fun and fins, the reality is we deal with more challenges than we'd often hope to - but that definitely keeps things interesting.
This crossed our path with all types of headaches, and a gallon of Titos tapped to the doser - not that we're opposed to responsible carbon dosing.
It has been a steady battle in what is consistently a nutrient free system in terms of wastes, to eliminate the particular nuisance you see in the sand. It once covered all surfaces and all equipment but with some creative solutions we've nearly eliminated it.
Seriously though, NOT for it's lack of effort.
