Gersky's Catering by Chef Stef
Hudson Valley catering service providing catering and private chef services to the tri-state area.
Let's start the new year with an announcement.
Gersky's catering was recently acquired by Chef Stef (Chef Stef NY). Some of our 2022 events were facilitated by him before the acquisition.
Chef Stef is a Hudson Valley based chef and caterer serving the tri-state area. He offers the same types of catering services that Gersky's has offered since 1988. In addition, Chef Stef also does chef dinner parties where you can have the restaurant experience without going out the door.
Our website, phone number and social medias will remain active for the time being, so there is no need to start switching everything over.
Chef Stef looks forward to servicing long-time and new Gersky's clients for many years to come.
We're still here! If you need to get a hold of us please call 845-621-0696.
Looking to enjoy your holiday with family and friends, and NOT your stove? This year we are promoting another local caterer.

During the month of December, we’ll be featuring posts about four Festivals of Light: Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza and New Year’s Eve.
Each week we’ll focus on one holiday and talk about the origins, celebrations and, of course, the food!
Hanukkah begins on December 18th and ends on Monday, December 26th. This Jewish holiday celebrates the victory of the Jewish Maccabees over Syrian-Greek army,
it also celebrates a miracle that happened during that war. An oil filled menorah containing only one day’s supply of oil actually burned for 8 days until a new supply of oil arrived.
Holiday foods are fried in oil, celebrating the symbolism of the menorah oil. Our favorites are latkes and jelly donuts. Yum!
Thought about it yet?

Today is National Espresso Day!!
Do you know why we celebrate National Espresso Day?
It actually doesn’t have anything to do with the coffee itself.
Today’s the day we celebrate Angelo Moriondo, the inventor of the Espresso machine. His new machine enabled baristas to control the passing of steam and water through the coffee to consistently create the perfect cup of expresso every time.
And now have some trivia to share at tomorrow’s dinner.
In addition to turkey, stuffing, and sides, we think it is important you prep a round of these drinks before Thanksgiving… just so you can be sure to get it right (wink wink)!
Make sense?
This spiced chocolate cocktail will keep you warm and smiling straight through the holidays. Be sure to grab extra supplies once again, just in case!

Today is National Fast Food Day
The term “fast food” dates back to at least 1951.
It started as an industry term describing the new and now ubiquitous trend of restaurants providing food—fast.
Its earliest use characterized service (e.g., fast-food service) before extending to the food served itself.
Now heading into 2023, what's your favorite fast food guilty pleasure? Do you dip fries in a Wendy’s Frosty?
If you haven’t figured out your Thanksgiving dinner plans yet, you better get moving soon.
