Body Benefits has closed our studio location so that we can get out in the real world and make a difference! The high cost of running a brick and mortar site limited us from reaching the people that really needed us, now there is no excuse!

This is not your typical "Motivation Monday" post!
Do you have Motivation Monday Syndrome?
Some of the symptoms of Motivation Monday Syndrome start on Sunday evening with a feeling of Igottanitis, as in I gotta get back in shape, I gotta lose this weight, I gotta workout every day and include setting the clock for an early morning workout, packing your gym bag and setting your tennis shoes right next to the bed!
By Wednesday you've snoozed your alarm 3 times, you're rushing around trying to packing your gym bag and you get to the gym and realize you forgot your shoes!
Friday rolls around and you turn the damn alarm off and go back to bed because you don't even know where the hell your shoes are and Lord knows you can't workout without THOSE shoes!
Sound familiar?
Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with motivation. In fact I want you to get motivated! I would like to think that I motivate you and I want you to be someone else's motivation!
But motivation will only take you so far, maybe to Wednesday! Lol
So use the motivation but get determined not to fail,. Get a workout buddy to hold you accountable, hire a trainer or coach to guide you, put your workouts on your calendar and schedule everything else around it, NOT the other way around! Work on discipline!!
Discipline is the key! You have to work on discipline in order to become disciplined!
Avocado toast taken up a notch!
Avocado are not only delicious but they are heart healthy as well! They also go great with eggs which is an excellent protein source! Add a little sprinkle of cayenne or red pepper flakes and BOOM,. Breakfast of champions!

When we spend so much time chasing something that we don't realize it was right around the corner all along!
Butterflies take anywhere from 10 to 12 weeks to transform into their beautiful self,... Why do we expect our transformation to be any quicker?
Butterflies spend 2 weeks in the Larva stage breaking down and reorganizing their bodies to become caterpillars, shedding their skin several times during the process,. Why do we think our process will be a one and done, never requiring breaking down the process or reevaluating and reorganizing?
A Butterfly spends 10 days of the Pupa stage forming a Chrysalis (protective surrounding) to support it while it spends the next 2 - 6 weeks (depending on the type of species) to metamorphosis and emerge in it's final glory,.. Why do we think we can do it on our own, without a support system in place?
Once the Butterfly emerges it takes a moment to dry it's wings and then takes flight! Why do we waste so much time before we spread our wing and fly?
Life is short! Don't wait! Come out of your shell, reevaluate, break away from things that are not good, reorganize, do the work! Build a support system, get help, stay focused on metamorphosis and truly transform and emerge better, faster, stronger!

On-line group classes have been dwindling and I must say I've been feeling the pressure!
•What am I doing wrong?
•Is it the time/format/price?
•How long should I keep trying
to build the classes back up?
With pressure comes self doubt!
•I guess I'm not as good as I use to
be.
•I'm too old to compete with all
the social media influencers.
•No body cares how hard I work,
how much training I have or the
years of experience I have.
Pressure combined with self doubt leads to feelings of being useless and unappreciated!
It's a one way path to burnout!
So, I put it out there, I asked you what's the deal? What do you want? And the answer was clear! You want private or small group sessions, either on-line or in person but you want individualized training.
I ❤️ teaching!! BUT helping people get healthier is my purpose! So I am stepping away and going back to my roots!
For the time being Body Benefits offerings will be private sessions or build a class options! Both of these will be tailored to your specific needs! Message me or check out our website for booking information.

The things I do at 5 AM to make it to Spin class! Now if my power would just cooperate for my online Yoga. More/Bigger storms expected today!
When trying to please all of the people, all of the time you may notice that they become even more unpleasable and you yourself are not pleased!
Do you think any of those facebook or Instagram fitness help sites have your best interest in mind?
You know the ones I'm talking about?
They usually have a gorgeous 20 something year old belly baring babe stuffing all kinds of crap (doughnuts, cupcakes, etc.) in their mouth talking about menopause and/or hormones,. as if they know any thing about menopause!
They usually come with a one minute quiz to help you determine your,
●Body Type
●Hormone Type
●Metabolic Type
and promise that once you know that you can,
●Stop exercising
●Eat anything you want
● Be a size 2 by dinner time
The quiz usually tells you your "type" but you have to join (pay) to find out what to do about it!
Well I took the "quiz" just to see if it would be a healthy plan. I answered all questions truthfully and picked that I didn't want to lose weight just tone up with lean muscle. This is my results,.. healthy? I think not!!! What "expert" would tell a grown women that it's okay to be 78 pounds in 14 days?!!
While I do believe that hormones play a big role in metabolism and that at a certain time in our lives doing too much exercise can have a negative effect. I also believe that healthy outweighs skinny any day!
