Residents planting Forget-Me-Nots in our Dementia/Alzheimer's Courtyard today!

Happy National Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month! Jefferson Healthcare staff celebrated with our wonderful residents and their families. 💜

The Forget-Me-Not flower symbolizes our commitment to remember and honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease, a challenging neurodegenerative disorder that leads to memory loss and cognitive decline. Together, we stand strong in raising awareness and supporting our community.

We were deeply honored to grant Robert Graham, a longtime dairy farmer and one of our beloved residents under hospice care, his final wish of reconnecting with cows. Yesterday, the parking lot of Jefferson Healthcare Center turned into a mini-farm as two beautiful 4-H dairy feeder project cows were brought in by Rebecca Dawson and Kylie Fuentes.

It was heartwarming to see Robert and our other residents enjoy the interaction with the cows, creating cherished memories.

Jefferson Healthcare was honored to help celebrate a remarkable milestone: the 59th wedding anniversary of one of our residents, Betty (Gehring) Hay, and her husband, Herbert. ❤

Betty attributes the longevity of their marriage to three key factors: truly meaning your vows when you say them, maintaining open communication, and focusing on giving more than taking. She warmly adds, "Just lots of lovin’ and lots of givin’."

To mark their special day, Betty and Herbert enjoyed a private dinner at Chops, and we hosted a loving celebration for them featuring cake and beverages, as we honor this incredible couple and their enduring love story.

Holy cow! Did you know it's Dairy Month? We are "udderly" in love with these cow crafts! We took full advantage and celebrated these lovely creatures with crafts and facts! 🐮

Our residents enjoyed a delightful outing to the White Turkey Restaurant! They savored delicious food and the beautiful weather. The day was capped off with a scenic ride along the shores of Lake Erie.
