Then and Now...

What a difference a year can make. With our new building comes a new sign to match!

We are excited to share that we will be operational in the new shelter this month. And, we hope to share it with everyone at a grand opening celebration in July. More details to come as plans come together.

Today was a big day around here. Today, staff was able to get their first look into our new shelter! While things aren't quite 100% yet, we were able to take a tour and see what is in store for us in the near future. It is going to be amazing.

We apologize for our silence the past few weeks. It was a time in which all the work was taking place inside and we didn't have any new photos to share. BUT, that has changed!

Last week we had a walk-thru with the architects and the construction crew to evaluate progress and we managed to sneak some photos while we were inside. Check them out to see the amazing job Strauser Construction has done on the new shelter.

WE ARE SO EXCITED! More news to come soon....

Unleashing a Brighter Future for Brown County’s Animals

For fifty-two years the Brown County Humane Society has provided the only animal sheltering and adoption option in Brown County. We are a respite for homeless pets. We’ve reunited lost pets with their families, housed the homeless, fed the starved, healed the ill and injured and created “happily ever after stories” for thousands of pets and their new families. Over 25,000 pets have called the shelter their temporary home. Our Save Rate of 98% is one of the highest in the country.

When the current animal shelter was first conceived, no one could have imagined the variety of programs or need for public services that the Humane Society would face. Through these efforts, the Brown County Humane Society touches almost every member of the community.

The current building has long served the Humane Society, but the needs of the organization and the community have surpassed the capabilities of the existing structure.

It’s time for something new.
