DEER ISLE® GRANITE
Quarried since the mid 1800s in , its relative proximity to all major Northeastern cities New York City makes this granite one of the most prevalent dimension stone types in our region.
Deer Isle® Granite was sent down the Atlantic coast, from the islands off Maine, on custom-built ships called “stone schooners” — with deliveries headed for Boston and New York harbors, and even beyond to Washington, DC and New Orleans.
It continues to be a critical commodity today, for restoration and replacement projects of historic landmark buildings; in addition to being an architect’s favorite for basecourse, veneer cladding and flatwork applications on new construction highrise and mixed-use urban projects.

=Fun Fact= The limestone we custom-fabricated and supplied to the Briarcliff Manor Village Hall in Westchester County, New York, for its recent ADA ramp upgrade and new entrance project, was quarried (unearthed from the ground) at one of the world's most renowned locations for natural limestone: Green County, Indiana, USA.
Indiana Limestone has been used in construction applications for the past 200 years. With access to over 100 future years worth of quarry reserves in Indiana, we hand-select blocks of limestone specific to each individual project, based on desired colored range. Our skilled fabricators are able to custom-make architectural limestone trim and moldings, in addition to cut-to-size veneer panels, wall caps, and coping - with various available surface finishes and textures.
Each cut-to-size project is supplied with shop drawings, cut tickets, and a final numbered setting drawing for efficient installation by a project's stone setters.

"Designed by the architecture firm SLAM and built by the Consigli construction company, the nearly 30,000-square-foot green space is complete with stone walkways, benches, trees, a terrace area, and of course the focus is a gorgeous green lawn. The space also includes seating built into East Hill, which provides a dramatic setting for outdoor classes and performances of all kinds. Not only does this project beautify the campus, but statistically, campus green spaces correlate with a higher quality of life and higher cognitive and academic performance, making this vision even more relevant."
