Spreading out some “dirt”, (mostly sod) along a new driveway. This machine could handle a larger grading beam no problem. I’m spreading it out, will hit it with a tiller, and regrade. Should turn out great!

Big bucket things!! This is working a lot better than expected, machine handles it just fine.

Thanks to and for having me be part of this! I couldn’t imagine working these days without a Steelwrist!

Little schooling going on! Getting some family help doing some layout for a new driveway and turnaround for a customer. Almost 900 tons of rock going in here starting next week, or when the weather decides to cooperate 👍🏻

First Mecalac video. Although this isn’t an ideal job to try to learn this thing, it’s working out. I would have much rather not been on a hilly, slick, muddy site, but here we are. Between the X12, and all the functions the 9MWR has, plus joystick roller steering from Steelwrist, it’s a pretty busy place to sit. Feet, hands, fingers, brain, all busy 😂 I’ll get er figured out, more videos to come!

pallet forks for the win today. Glad I’m not carrying these pipes by hand anymore!

19/04/2022

Well today was the day I finally got to put my new baby to work. I got this machine in late January, and got it all buttoned up Saturday. So far I love it! It’s going to take a bit of getting used to the triple boom, oh and the wheels. I think once I get the hang of it it will be an absolute weapon. The range of motion these machines have is unreal, 25mph on the road, seems to do great off road too. I have a list of future plans for this thing, but first I’m beyond excited to have it hit the dirt this morning. X12 with a custom top to fit to the connect coupler, low build height but still removable to use the big skid bucket. Got the wrap done by , looks great! Many thanks to , , , , , for the coupler idea, and a bunch of people that don’t have insta. Going to dust off the GoPro and start making some videos soon.👍🏻👍🏻

Digging up utilities in the snow. It’s like a treasure hunt you can either get paid or pay them 😂 Swipe for the after pic. Power, Gas, and telco in this pit.

Snowed a ton here last night, out doing a bit of snow removal. I love the snow, the tractor powers this blower pretty damn good. Only taking a half pass because I wasn’t in there steering.

pallet forks coming in handy last night. Had to move some lumber for the general to get my grading done. Was impressed the machine picked it up! Don’t use the forks all the time but I’m glad we didn’t have to move all that by hand!

Have a customer trying out an .attachments SR3 rake on his JCB 2TS-7T. This was about 10 minutes after we hooked it up. He likes it and I was impressed as well. Follow for vids of the equipment we sell in action. I have been super busy with the new job and I’m hoping to begin posting more videos here soon.👍🏻

Integrated grab for the win again. Doing some stuff at home. Including moving my woodshed on skids to a new spot. I’m indecisive, and didn’t know where a good forever spot would be....If you are shopping tiltrotators, get the grippers, there’s a million uses you don’t think about when you’re shopping.

Anybody else not excited about it getting dark early? Trying to get some rock on a driveway tonight before it gets muddier than it already is!

Happy Halloween from The L&S Earthworx family!

I’ve been a busy guy these days, and am excited to announce that I have decided to take a job working for . Starting from being one of their first customers, I have gotten to know the folks here, have had nothing but great experiences, and after being invited to join the team multiple times, have decided to step back from full time excavating. I have been doing construction since 2000, self employed since 2006, and it’s time to try something new. Any Steelwrist questions, JCB questions, general attachment questions, don’t hesitate DM me. We sell JCB locally, but attachment sales including Steelwrist can be done nationwide. There is some more exciting stuff we are doing in the near future, but I won’t spill the beans on all of it now😂 Wish me luck!!!

Had to say goodbye to my buddy of almost 15 years today. Give your dog a pet if you have one, they don’t live forever.....😢

Smokey Saturday, bringing out the t4.75 for a bit of dirt work, let’s see how she does!

I will never forget where I was when I heard the news on what was happening, seems like forever ago now, but I can still remember it like it was yesterday. RIP to the innocent travelers, the innocent people in the buildings, and the heroic first responders.

Found a new use for the broom. I’m having to dig up these utilities because they were incorrectly put in under the house foundation footprint. The power and gas are live, I don’t know/care much about the telco. The plan is to try to flex them over out of the footprint, I have my doubts on that plan, we will see. Broom works great for exposing these, no shovel needed👍🏻.

Rebuilding a dealer that had some utilities ran through it. work for sure, the site is pure sand so it really shows every imperfection. Kinda frustrating, happy Wednesday! My new secret weapon is helping immensely👍🏻

25/08/2020

Doing some cleanup along the edges of the road with the grading beam. The temp asphalt is only 2” thick so it needs all the help it can get. More cleanup tomorrow👍🏻.

Little weekend project replacing the cutting edge on my cable bucket. This thing has been through hell, I regularly use the corner of the bucket to dig with. Had it for 2.5 years. I am a huge fan of the way the buckets are shaped without a bolt on cutting edge, bolts would be in the way of picking up things, and the bottom of the bucket would no longer be as flat. I’m no pro fabricator but it was an easy project, used hardox for the cutting edge. First pass was er70s6 hard wire, didn’t build up as much as I wanted, so second pass was 5/32 Excalibur 7018. Should be good for a few more years! #7018 @ Ellensburg, Washington

I have gotten a handful of questions about being able to remove the for trenching, here’s my thought, if you’re productively digging trenches that are more than 3’ deep you’re going to get a bigger machine, anything more than 4’ deep requires either shoring or sides that slope back. Any way you go a tiltrotator will work fine fitting in the trench, the occasional time I dig more than 4’ deep for something It’s pretty easy to remove a bit of dirt and fit down in there. My X06 will fit into an 18” wide trench, barely, a 24” wide trench would be roomy. Also this Cb3c bucket allows me to get to 3’ deep and not have a ton of spoils to deal with, in this case a 2” conduit and a 1 1/2” water line will fit just fine, the amount of dirt I have to move on this 1000 ft trench is a lot less. Less to dig, less to backfill, less cleanup, etc. No comments on the snake like direction on my trench either 😂

Grading beam for the win again. No real way to grade this with anything on tires, 6” of clean crushed rock on pure sand. It’s wheel hop city. Wish me luck I have a ton to get done before tomorrow!

23/07/2020

Grading beam! My favorite attachment, when I get to use this I’m pretty happy. The site is all sand and is getting prepped for porous asphalt. A temp pave with standard asphalt will be done and ripped out after construction. There is just no feasible way to keep it clean during the construction process. Have about 800 ton of rock coming next week, so more grading vids will follow 👍🏻.
