This is a two-day class sponsored by our friends at Allegion. A portion of every fee goes to our friends at the National Alliance of Security Professionals, the Midwest's association for security education.

Topics covered: selecting the proper hardware, wiring, bidding out the job to make money, HANDS ON WIRING, CAT5 & 6 terminations, programming, and basic troubleshooting. We will cover multiple systems, and plan on having a great time!

The Schlage Pure Access platform will be on the board, however MOST Access Control solutions will be similar or identical when you work on them.

ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS.

Have you had someone "convert" your regular key to a "DO Not Duplicate" key? More than likely it can still be duplicated, and not just by a locksmith!

I challenge you to go to the Key Machine at Lowes, it's by the self checkout, and stick in your "DO NOT Duplicate" key and see if it will copy it. In fact, get a video of this task, and post it here!

If your converted key can't be copied (and not because the keys are out of stock), post the video here and you'll get a $5 gift card.

The problem with people copying a regular key to one that's stamped "Do Not Duplicate" is that words on keys don't matter. Machines don't read the words and ask questions. So when your locksmith hands you a key and says that it can't be duplicated, you should check the facts.

Fact is, 90% of business keys in the Grand Junction area can be duplicated, no matter what the key says. Unless you buy a restricted key system, such as the Primus or the Alpha system that Reliant Security installs, your key system is 100% vulnerable to unauthorized duplication.
