Get into action!
WSF is currently gathering and weighing community input for the upcoming (2027) Fauntleroy dock renovation. They are considering multiple options, some of which hold even fewer cars than the current dock!
On Vashon, we know that getting cars off of Fauntleroy way is a big deal for travelers. We've drafted an email you can send to advocate for the larger dock alternative, or craft your own. Send a note today to: [email protected].

I support Alternative C for the upcoming Fauntleroy trestle and transfer span renovation. It is vital to move drivers off the unsafe and confusing “holding lane” that is Fauntleroy Way.
It is imperative that WSF take this once in a generation opportunity to plan for the future and opt for Alternative C, which will hold a critical mass of cars, provide equitable access to restrooms and facilities, and allow more efficient loading of boats.
I also support the addition of a second slip at the dock to bolster resiliency and better prepare the route for future needs.

FREE!! Baby Grand Piano
The Drachmann Baby Grand was manufactured in Chicago, Serial #18870. It is 4’9” at the longest point and 4’11” at the widest. We bought it used/restored at the Seattle Piano Co. in I believe 2009. I am not certain of the age of the piano. It had originally been the “house” piano at the old Seattle Opera House at the Seattle Center. The inner workings were completely refurbished and all are in excellent condition. In addition, the body (case) was painted matte black at the same time. Judging from the style of the legs and music board I would guess it is probably mid-twentieth century. The front of the pedal box has some damage from a puppy who did some chewing on it. The keys are beautiful though it could use a tuning.

Is your organization looking for a way to engage with families and support Vashon kiddo fun at Strawberry Festival?
We're currently organizing the Kid Zone space and would LOVE to see you there! Kid Zone will be at Vashon Village and participants will be given space on the ground. (no tent, no electrical, entirely self-sufficient).
A great example of a group that has already committed to join the fun is Girls to Girls, a wonderful VHS organization, who will be doing face painting.
How about traditional carnival-style game tables? Creative art workshops? Tying knots? Anything that will help entertain our little ones during festival is fantastic!
