HOW TO GET STUFF DONE.
STOP SAYING “YES” TO DISTRACTIONS!
THE MAGIC OF FEEDBACK is due to my publisher in 14 days. I am allowing writing this article to be a distraction, so I’ll make it quick.
Saying YES to something means I am saying NO to something else. This can't be offset by blaming someone or something, because I am the one making the choice. I can rationalize that I had “no choice”- but that is BS. I ALWAYS have a choice. Sometimes not an easy or comfortable one, but I have a choice. My choice right now was to take a 15-minute break from MAGIC and write this article.
I allowed an appointment to get my hair cut to be more important than getting to the office early to focus on MAGIC. I made that choice, and I can also choose to work a couple of hours later this evening.
Now is not the time for me to re-organize my office, spring clean the garage, or "joy test" the clothes in my closet. FOCUS SHERRY! Put your phone on AIRPLANE MODE and put it in the desk drawer. Set the time on your laptop for a MOVE BREAK and avoid the temptation to look at your phone. NO EXCUSES. I 100% must leave it in the desk drawer because it is one of my biggest distractions.
My last secret for how to get stuff done: just sit down and do it! Stop thinking some magical mystical something is going to happen and make it easier or better. The only thing that is going to make it easier and better is for me to focus 100% on my goal and say NO to everything else.
Be sure you are saying YES to the things that truly matter and NO to the things that distract you.

WOW – I am in that 23-day countdown toward having a draft of THE MAGIC OF FEEDBACK ready for review by a publisher! And, YES…I am a bit nervous about getting it done by 5/23/23 5:00PM Central Time.
However, I am confident I will hit the SEND button by or before 5:00PM on 5/23!
I am willing to be brave and step out of my comfort zone.
Do you ever have something that you are passionate about, excited to share but you don’t?
As long as I continue to continue to work on the manuscript for MAGIC, the longer I can delay the process of sharing it with people and I can stay in my comfort zone of “I’m still working on it.”
I know myself well enough to know that the longer I put off sharing MAGIC the longer I can put off the REALLY BIG SCARY phase of the publishing process. That would be the phase of PROMOTING ME and MAGIC.
Since that phase at best is months down the road, I am going to focus on today and be inspired to put words on a page that will help others discover THE MAGIC OF FEEDBACK.
I hope today was an awesome FOCUS day, that you bravely stepped out of your comfort zone, and you were able to make magic happen for yourself and for others.

Since December, I've been focused on getting the manuscript for "The Magic of Feedback" ready for the publisher.
I appreciate all the people who have allowed me to gather their feedback stories. Thanks to Jan Fraser my coach, Sue L. my cover designer, and Marnie for stepping in to handle admin chores so I can stay focused on creating MAGIC!
Also, big hugs for John, plus my Accountability Partners- Philip, Maggie, Victoria and many others who have been so supportive over the last five months.
