Christian Services of Greater Lansing
Empowering and networking local Churches to help them serve people in need in our community.
This week we started Judson Baptist Church's LOVE Clothing Center Back to School clothing calls!
If you know of a family in need, please have them contact our helpline at 394-5411. We are open 9 am - 3 pm Monday through Thursday.
The Love Clothing Center is open several Saturdays every month to help with clothing for school aged children. Christian Services takes the requests for clothing and makes appointments for families in need. Judson helps an average of 90 children each month except for August & September. In those months they are open every Saturday and extend their hours to serve approximately 350 children in August and September alone. Many more families don’t get appointments because of the high demand and limited space.
How does Judson Baptist Church sustain this ministry? Only with the support of the Church Network. They depend on donations of new and like new clothing and funds to purchase needed items. All children’s clothing is helpful but especially needed are new socks and underwear, and especially boxer briefs in all sizes.

Back in June we received a call from a woman needing help with her broken refrigerator. She had checked with several places but unable to find the help she needed. We reached out to Tri-County Office on Aging to see if they knew of any programs. As they often do, they knew of a program.
We received an update that the woman was able to receive the help she needed!! We greatly appreciate Tri County on Aging and all that they do for the community.
The Charles Terry Food Pantry at Antioch Church will be open THIS Saturday May 4th noon-2 pm (or food is gone) AND they will have gently used summer clothes for those in need. Please come out early for lots of food- and take your time to look at summer clothes that are FREE!

We were recently given the opportunity to share about our organization. On Tuesday, April 23, Meridian Cares led a Community Resource Connection. We were able to share and hear from 40 regional organizations and government bodies to build stronger connections and improve referrals for mid-Michigan residents in need of assistance.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
