Communication is key. You can't help people be healthy and happy when your words and actions don't resonate with them.
How much sleep do you need? Simply listen to your body! You might need to experiment but see the minimum hours you need to function optimally and feel good.
Why spend unnecessary time in bed when you can be leveling up your life in some way? 😉
Carbs are "bad" when you eat the starchy and refined kind in excess, have an unbalanced diet, and are sedentary.
Solution? Do the opposite of those things and be healthier and happier 🙃
It doesn't matter what gym you're at. Come in with a plan, adapt to what they have available, and work hard.
Start with just a little bit regularly so you can't fail. Establishing the habit is what's important.
Capsaicin, the spicy part of peppers, can be good for your body in reasonable amounts of course. Try include some spice in your life 🔥
My presentation at went off without a hitch. I was happy with the turnout and audience interaction and hopefully someone can use at least one idea and apply it for a healthier and happier life 🥰
Work hard of course but not too hard. Many people are overworked and undernourished putting the body in a high stress state. Do that long enough and you'll see and feel the effects of chronic stress.
Eat the rainbow they say. Having a variety of foods provides a variety of nutrients, which are good for you.
If you're going the stationary bike route, the upright bike is arguably better as your core is used more in addition to all the leg work.
That's not to say the recumbent bike doesn't have its place though. There are people that simply can't handle other machines due to balance, strength, or range of motion limitations. This can be a good place to start 👍
Level Up is invading anime cons! Next month I'll be hosting a panel relating health and wellness to video game concepts. I do indeed game as hard as I workout 🎮
It'll be fun helping the anime community be healthier and happier.
One of the main problems with fried food is the oil that's used and how often (if at all) it's changed.
Cheap, processed, polyunsaturated oils break down under high heat and can cause inflammation when eaten. Now imagine that same oil being reused over and over again and eating THAT.
I know: some fried stuff is just straight up yummy and delicious like these boneless wings. Just don't eat it all the time.
If your shoulders aren't working properly, there's a good chance the joints above (neck) and below (thoracic spine) will compensate and suffer. Get the basics on how to start mobilizing your shoulders here.
You'll feel great with less inflammation, perform better with actual nutrients, and improve your physique without feeling like garbage.
It's not fancy, but these are servings of some things I eat regularly. A typical meal is 1/3 cup of rice, 1 cup of mixed veggies, and about 4 oz of protein (there's a rotation of protein sources I cycle through). A pint glass of room temperature water is included after eating along with a short walk to lessen the effect of any glucose spikes.
I post fun food pictures I get at restaurants but that's maybe a once or twice a week treat I enjoy. Most days are the "boring" meals that keep me healthy and happy. Lesson of the day: eat real food most of the time and yummy junk food part of the time.

If my 77 year old client can safely RDL 100 lbs, anyone can. Just do it right, have some confidence, and you'd be amazed how far that will take you.
Once you learn how to drive, you can stop taking drivers ed but of course you can keep learning and refining long after.
My longest client has been training with me for 7+ years and she's still doing great. Even elite athletes work with coaches and trainers so don't feel ashamed to get a little bit of help.
Eat sweets in moderation. Added sugars and refined carbohydrates should be a small part of what you eat, not the majority of it.
Try eat more fiber and protein, since most people don't get enough daily.
People think the hip bridge is a basic exercise and mindlessly move up and down. When training glutes in general, I've found that most people have no idea how to position their body to feel those muscles working. This video covers the essentials to actually start doing this exercise the right way.
I love hunkering down on my PS5 but I also make sure to get outdoors and move my body.
Being outside can bring a number of benefits so avoid being trapped indoors all day long.
Eat more protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Your body will thank you when it's feeling and performing as it was designed to.
Life isn't perfect but it's 100% within your power to make it at least a little better.
Berries are delicious and nutritious. They have fiber and antioxidants that keep you healthy.
Wtf are antioxidants anyway? When oxidation happens in your body, your cells get damaged. Antioxidants help prevent this cellular damage so everything can function as it was designed to. Proper function keeps you healthy and happy 🙂
If your hips aren't working properly, there's a good chance the joints above (low back) and below (knees) will compensate and suffer.
