On Monday evening, December 26th, at approximately 10:30, a fire was discovered in one of the dry kilns at the Planer Mill Division of Shuqualak Lumber. Fire departments from Shuqualak and Macon were on the scene quickly to bring the fire under control. The Company is working this morning to determine the extent of the damage to this kiln and to the adjacent kiln with which a common wall was shared. We are grateful to the Shuqualak Fire Department, the Macon Fire Department, Noxubee County Fire/First Responder - Public, and firemen from our surrounding communities, 4-County Electric Power Association, and to our employees who arrived on scene last night to provide assistance in fighting this fire.
