For men and women to lead together, it will take all of us paving the way for the next generation. We need women to shrug off insecurity and take ownership. We need men to embrace team ministry and make room at the table. Priscilla and Aquila can become the norm instead of the exception.

Here are some of the names of females who contributed their voices and leadership to extend the Kingdom of Heaven. Despite many of them being unaware of their own influence and the culture ignoring it, they remained faithful.

A blank spot is left open because there are names to be added.

To the female leader, pastor, preacher, teacher, theologian, apostle, missionary… thank you for answering the call and remaining faithful to Christ. We see you and we applaud your service.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Feel free to tag someone whose name should be in the blank space.

Have you read Terran William’s book yet? If so, what did you think?

Over 60% of the Church is women. Could it be that the equipping and mobilizing of female leaders is one of the last things God is waiting for before returning for His bride?

How incredible to be living in a day where the Spirit of God has been poured out on sons and daughters, young and old!! It’s such an honor to be raising up the next generation to fully live out the call of God on their lives.

CoLeading isn’t easy. There are plenty of rewards and the fulfillment of working together, but also a lot of intentional investment required. We’ve learned that rhythms of play, learning together, and long conversations are so important for keeping us refreshed.

What rhythms do you have as a couple for staying healthy as coleaders?

(We hiked into a secluded grove of old growth trees in this picture. It was like discovering a forgotten city.)

CoLeading in ministry as husband and wife isn’t just about every person stewarding their gifts and fulfilling the God assignment; it’s also about the next generation watching us lead together. When we lead well, they receive a culture of teamwork, honor and honesty, and every member doing their part.

What do you need to lead together well?

1- Trust and confidence in each other
2- Clarity on your strengths and weaknesses
3- Shared vision of leading together
4- Commitment to fight alongside one another
5- High priority on communication and conflict resolution

31/05/2022

CoLeading as husband and wife has strengths and challenges.

Some of the strengths are:
1. Getting to work alongside your best friend
2. The gifts and calling of both individuals are being utilized
3. Team ministry is modeled from the top down
4. The weight of ministry is shared
5. A fuller representation of the image of God through both male and female voices

Some of the challenges:
1. Additional roles brings complexity (Husband/wife, Mother/father, CoLeaders, etc)
2. Everything is integrated and problems at work become problems at home
3. Leading together slows the pace of accomplishing important goals
4. Increased awareness of individual strengths and weaknesses and how they affect the team is required
5. Resistance from culture and team to CoLeading

What are some the strengths or challenges that you resonate with the most? Which would you love to expound on more?

We serve God together as families. There’s a calling from God that includes each person and the unique strengths they contribute. The clearer you get on the design of God for every member of the family, the better equipped you are to design your life to fulfill it.

A CoLead Cohort helps you articulate the calling of God and begin the process of ordering your schedule in response to it. Sign up today for our next CoLead Cohort this fall! Follow the link in profile to learn more.

We wrap up 21 Days of Prayer this weekend. Two thoughts that have been impressed deep into my spirit over this time:

1- we have an enemy who is strategic, ruthless, and evil.

2- God outmatches the enemy every time with His plans for our good, His relentless love, and willingness to meet us where we’re at.

The root of all anxiety, strife, addiction to sin, and fruitless living is not to be blamed on our personality, past trauma, or even our sin nature; it’s a shallow understanding of the gospel. In Him, it is finished. In Him, we are fully known and loved. In Him, we have everything we need to shed our false selves and find our true identity as sons and daughters.
