Our brother Tony Forte 7 is in need of a life-saving transplant. Tony since his birth has never had the ability to eat a full meal,he has never had a piece of birthday cake or even the breads and cakes we bake without getting sick due to the intestinal disease he was born with, Total Colonic Hirschsprung's Disease and Short Bowel Syndrome. He has to use artificial medical means to help keep him al
ive.With receiving IV Nutrition that feeds him through an IV Port in chest. However because the IV Nutrition can damage his liver and other organs and because his remaining small intestine doesn't have the motility to allow his body to absorb the nutrition that he needs to grow, he requires a transplant of a stomach/small & large intestine and will receive a liver. We have held many a fundraiser,raising funds for his Special Needs Trust. With the Community of Lititz that has been gracious to allow us to sell our breads/cakes to help our quest for our brother,we are pursuing helping others as well as our brother. In front of McElroy's Pharmacy in Lititz we have set up our stand on every 2nd Friday depending on weather/Craft Show/Fire & Ice/Christmas in the Park/July 4th etc. We have also sold our breads/cakes at Time Matter Antiques Mall in Reinholds at the Spring/Summer and Fall Extravaganza. Dominic Forte, 10 and I, Vinny Forte 12 have been selling our 1lb Home-Made Breads and Cakes for a donation to help with our brother's transplant fund. We will also help other organizations that have helped our family and many others: CMN (Children's Miracle Network) /Make-A-Wish/Give Kids the World/Ronald McDonald House Charities/Gift of Life/ Hirschsprung's Disease and Short Bowel Syndrome Research . We like too see other organizations select our Breads/Cakes as a fundraising opportunity and be able to help more organizations.
