Jordan Health is excited about the upcoming Front Porch Festival and Health Fair happening This Saturday. However, we are aware our community is still healing from the mass shooting deaths last weekend which took place during a public event. As a result, Jordan Health has partnered with the Rochester Police Department to develop a Front Porch Festival and Health Fair Safety Action Plan. One of our top priorities is the safety of our staff, patients, and neighbors. Our goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to have a safe and fun experience.

Our annual Front Porch Festival also serves as a Health Fair for our patients, neighbors and the overall community to come out have a great time and get those critical health screenings complete.

There will also be a chance to bring the kids out and get them ready to head back to school by completing their annual physicals, and immunizations all while having a great time including free food, games, and giveaways.

Here’s another important fact, as we know many people are going to want to take photos and capture memories.

If you're planning to use your cell phone camera to take pictures of the total solar eclipse happening on April 8, 2024, you need to be aware of the potential damage that the intense sunlight can cause to your device. Experts recommend not using your phone to capture images of the phenomenon as the lens of your camera, phone, or eye can focus the sunlight and cause permanent damage.

Instead, you should use the same filters found in solar eclipse glasses to take pictures of the partial solar eclipse. You can cut your glasses in half and tape one eyepiece over your smartphone camera lens.
