Incident Update.

Today. January 24th, 2024 Scranton Police arrested a male in the area of Scranton High School who was armed with a weapon.

Scranton School District placed their schools on lock down as a precaution during the active investigation.

Scranton Police have increased Police presence in the area of Scranton schools.

At this time there is no information to suggest any additional danger to Scranton schools or the community.

Please do not spread information that does not come from one of the following sources.
- Scranton Police Department
- Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office
- Pennsylvania State Police

This incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE: Today, Tuesday 1/23/24 is now a 3 hour delay. School starts at 11:10am.

School starts at 10:10am. Busses are delayed too. If your bus typically arrives at 7:32, it will arrive at 9:32.

🚲 Bike distribution for students who were awarded a Golden Ticket will be tomorrow, Saturday, January 20 from 10am-2pm at Memorial Stadium by Scranton High School. Ticket must be presented to receive your bike.

UPDATE: FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION DAY. Students should log on to their Google classroom for the two hour delay today, Thursday, January 11, 2024. Flexible instruction starts at 10:10am. If a student does not have their device at home, please utilize flexible instruction work packets which were sent home earlier this school year.

Congratulations to our JFK students who were randomly selected to receive bikes from a generous donation compliments of the All Kids Bike organization 🚴

Another successful year of “Spreading Holiday Cheer” Our students made holiday cards for healthcare workers and patients. The cards were delivered to Geisinger CMC , Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center , and Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. 🎄

School resumes tomorrow, January, 2nd at 8:10am. Tomorrow is Tuesday so it is a 1:55 dismissal.
